Simko NYCC Garbage Pail Kids Print and Shirt Preview

Longtime Garbage Pail Kids artist Joe Simko previewed a new silkscreen print that will be available at this year’s New York Comic Con via his Facebook account. The print features a number of GPKs in a NYCC setting. The GPK banner and NYCC logo and date also appear on the print. There will also be t-shirts of the poster available for sale at the show. The print and shirt can be purchased at the official NYCC show booths #1157 or #3900. Simko will also be on hand signing promo cards at the Topps booth Friday, 10/7 at 1:00 PM. This year’s NYCC is set to take place from 10/6-10/9. Many more Topps GPK NYCC announcements to come!

Garbage Pail Kids Official Coloring Book Coming in 2023

The Garbage Pail Kids are getting their own officially licensed coloring book. Epic Ink Books will be publishing The Garbage Pail Kids: The Official Coloring Book. GPKWorld was first to report the new coloring book. All the art in the book will be done by longtime GPK artist Joe Simko. The description for the book promises over 50 classic GPK characters to color including; Adam Bomb/Blasted Billy, Unzipped Zack, Bad Breath Seth, Oozy Suzy, Cut-Up Carmen, Dead Ted, New Wave Dan, April Showers, Electric Bill, Disgustin’ Justin, Evil Eddie, Junky Jeff, Dough Boyd, and Brutal Brad. The 128 page coloring book retails for $12.99. The book is available now for preorder at various online book sellers like Books-A-Million. Collectors should wait before busting out their crayons, as the current release date is scheduled for Sept. 12, 2023.

Hybris Production Launches GPK Clothing Line in Europe

Do you live in Europe? Do you need a new wardrobe? Then Hybris Production has you covered. The company recently launched a large line of officially licensed Garbage Pail Kids clothing and posters. GPKWorld was first to report on the products. The Sweden based company has a license to produce a number of GPK clothing items and posters. There are nine different styles available; 7 card variations, 1 curved GPK banner, and 1 new licensed trash logo. Each style is available in 8 different types, everything from men’s and women’s tshirts, big & tall, long sleeve shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies. Most items also come in a number of different colors. A large range of sizes are available for almost anyone. There are also baseball caps and a tote bag with the new licensed trash logo. The company sells their cloths direct to Europeans in their online Shirt Store. The company also produces over 100 different posters featuring artwork from OS 1-3. The posters are available in four different sizes ranging from 21 CM x 30 CM (8”x11”) to 70 CM x 100 CM (27”x39”). Europeans can purchase the posters from Just Posters online store. Collectors in the United States will have to get creative if they want these items. There is a seller on Amazon who will ship the clothing items to the US at a steep cost. The posters don’t appear to be available to be shipped to the US as of yet. This is one of the largest GPK clothing lines to date. Collectors are sure to find something for them.

Topps Announces 9 Card Giveaway for NYCC

This year’s New York Comic Con is quickly approaching. Topps has big plans once again for this year’s show. Today the company announced a 9 card Garbage Pail Kids Puzzle Giveaway. This initiative matches what the company did at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Collectors will be able to collect 9 different cards at various booths around the show. The 9 puzzle cards will form a new piece of GPK artwork with a New York theme done by artist Chris Meeks. The artwork has not yet been revealed by Topps. Cards are first come first served at the show, and proved hard to get for some at SDCC. There will once again be a limited number available at each booth, each day of the show. This year’s NYCC is set to take place Oct. 6-9. Topps has many more GPK announcements coming in the next few weeks for the show. The checklist with booths listed is below, followed by the today’s announcement from Topps.

Garbage Pail Kids Trading Card Giveaway Set for New York Comic Con

Topps is pleased to announce a special opportunity for Garbage Pail Kids fans to collect nine unique GPK puzzle cards during the upcoming New York Comic Con (Oct. 6-9).

When completed, the puzzle reveals a New York City-centric visual montage created by GPK artist Chris Meeks. Meeks’ inking talents were recently showcased in Camp Daze, the third book in the GPK middle-school series by noted author R. L. Stine. Meeks is also a member of the creative team behind Garbage Pail Kids: Origins, the groundbreaking new comics series from Dynamite Entertainment. (Issue #1 on sale October5.)

Here’s the scoop: Specific trading cards will be distributed at designated locations throughout the Javits Center exhibition hall. These locations include two separate places within the Topps booth as well as participating GPK licensing partners and select retailers. The nine different cards are available free — while supplies last. The attached checklist graphic provides the names of all participants along with their corresponding booth numbers.

“The resounding success of the GPK puzzle card giveaway we hosted at the San Diego Comic Con made the upcoming NYCCeffort a no brainer,” says Ira Friedman, head of GPK Licensing for Topps. Fans of all ages are going to have a blast chasing all nine NYCC cards, completing their puzzles, and connecting with new and long-time Garbage Pail Kids communitymembers,“ notes Friedman.

Topps Launches Garbage Pail Kids Krashers Series 3

Another new group of GPKs are ready to get racing! Today, Topps launched Garbage Pail Kids Krashers Series 3. Once again there are 21 cards in the base set; 10 character names, 10 car names, and 1 header card. Artist Joe Simko did all the artwork for the set. Each set ordered also comes with 3 license plate insert cards, 1 pop culture insert, and either a Foil insert or sketch card. Foil cards are available in Gold (/50) and Rainbow (/25). Odds for sketch cards are listed as 1:2 sets. There are a total of 28 sketch artists in the set, including the GPK sketch debut for Eric Medina. Topps Launches Garbage Pail Kids Trashy Treasures Series 5

Topps sure has been busy lately with GPK launches. Today the company launched Garbage Pail Kids Trashy Treasures Series 5. There are five new figures for collectors to purchase; Potty Scotty, Ali Gator, Trap Dora, Beasty Boyd, and Smelly Sally. Each 3.5” figure comes with its own trading card. Each figure ordered also has the chance of receiving a red, green, black, silver, or 1/1 gold parallel figure. Each figure is available for $19.99 plus shipping. The figures are available on Topps.com. The will be on sale until they are sold out. Here are pictures of figure boxes and cards.

Topps Teases Garbage Pail Kids Krashers Series 3

Topps today via their official GPK Facebook channel, Toops announced the upcoming launch of Garbage Pail Kids Krashers Series 3. The online set with artwork from Joe Simko is back with more GPKs in crazy car mashups. Like previous versions of the set, there will be sketch cards randomly inserted into sets. Get ready the new crop launches on Topps.com this Thursday, 9/15.

Garbage Pail Kids Plushers Series 1 Available for Pre-order

Update: Big Bad Toy Store has Plushers available for preorder as well, with more information on what is being offered. There are two different types of plushers being offered. They 3.5” bag clip plush dolls come 18 to a box. BBTS had boxes available for preorder for 99.99. All 12 figures are pictured below. In attrition they have a 6 pack of 8” figures available for 89.99. These figures do not have the clips. The figures in the 6-pack are; Adam Bomb, Dead Ted, Tee Vee Stevie, Leaky Lindsay, New Wave Dave, and Nat Nerd. BBTS shows the release date as Dec. 2022. Back in May, Topps filed for a trademark for GPK Plushers, it looks like that product is coming out. Toywiz has packs of Garbage Pail Kids Plushers Series 1 available for preorder now. Plushers are 3.5″ plush GPK figures with a clip on the top to hang from backpacks. They are being sold in mystery blind packs. The description says there are 12 different figures to collect. ToyWiz does show an image with 8 of the figures. The usual suspects are all there, lead by Adam Bomb. Toywiz is selling these for $6.99 each with an estimated January 2023 ship date. Expect more venues to have these available in the coming weeks.

GetAGrip Launches GPK Mike Air Skateboard Deck

GetAGrip Skateboards surprised collectors today with a new skateboard deck launch. The Garbage Pail Kids Mike Air deck features basketball legend Michael Jordon as a GPK. The deck package comes with a lot of extras. A Blue Boil size 7 basketball, featuring Adam Bomb, comes with each order. There are two licensed collector cards, one mystery grip tape, 1 special series 4 wheel preview, and a wall hanger as well. The boards and basketball are both limited to 150 copies. The package can be purchased for $150 from GetAGrip’s website. This one is sure to sell out soon.
