John Pound Autos Part of GetAGrip Skateboard Release

In the GPK shocker of the year, GetAGrip Skateboards revealed John Pound as the last mystery artist as part of their Artist Signature Series Blind Bag skateboard decks. There are five total decks, limited to /50 each from five different artists. Each deck features past artwork from these artists, along with a matching autographed card from that artists. I’m not sure how the folks at GetAGrip got it done, but they somehow were able to get original GPK artist to sign 50 autos. Pound has refused to do any GPK work for years now. Pound’s last work for Topps was signing autos for the Chrome 2 set in 2014. Topps has since attempted to get him to sign autos for other Chrome sets to no avail. The skateboard decks went on sale at 1:00 PM EST for $189 each and quickly sold out. These are sure to be hot items on the secondary market once they ship.

GetAGrip Launching Artist Signature Series Blind Bag Skateboard

GetAGrip Slateboards has been teasing all week their upcoming Artist Signature Series Blind Bag Skateboard decks. In total there will be five new decks all featuring past Adam Bomb artwork by various artists. So far boards with artwork by Tom Bunk, David Gross, Brent Engstrom, and Joe Simko have been revealed. The company says it will reveal the fifth board at 12:55 PM EST tomorrow, 4/28. There will be 50 copies of each board made. Each board also comes with an autographed card of the same artwork by that board’s artist. The board will be sold blind bag style, so collectors won’t know which one they receive. The board will go on sale at 1:00 PM EST tomorrow, 4/28, at GetAGrip’s website. Pricing have not been revealed yet. GetAGrip says there will be a 5 board limit per customer. These should go quick, collectors will want to be on time tomorrow to purchase!

Pre-Orders Start for Greenlight Garbage Pail Kids Series 5 Die-Cast Cars

One of the longest running GPK licensee series continues. Preorders for Greenlight’s Series 5 Garbage Pail Kids die-cast cars has begun. There are once again six cars in the series. Each car comes with a corresponding GPK card. There will also be random rare Green Machine parallels of the cars inserted into cases. No pictures of the cars are available yet. Here is a list of card names and card:

ToyNK Launches GPK Adam Bomb Mood Light

Time to light up your life! ToyNK this week launched the Garbage Pail Kids Adam Bomb Figural Mood Light. The light is manufactured by The Robe Factory Ukonic for ToyNK. Including the base, the light stands 10” tall. There is a 15 min. auto shut off timer to keep those batteries fresh. The light is available for $39.99 from TotNK, Target, and Amazon. GetAGrip Launches Adam Bomb Nuclear Neon Sign

What does every GPK collector’s display need? An Adam Bomb neon sign! Today GetAGrip launched the Adam Bomb Nuclear Neon Sign.  The sign measures 24” x 22” and is made of acrylic. They are limiting the production to /85 units. There is a 3-4 week lead time for shipping as the signs are made to order. The sign will set collector’s back $299.00, but you’ll surely be the envy of your neighbors!

Dynamite Announces Madballs vs. Garbage Pail Kids Slime Again Issue #4

The story of how GPKs and Madballs first met comes to an end. Dynamite has announced Madballs vs. Garbage Pail Kids Slime Again Issue #4. This is the final issue in the limited run series. The preview for the issue reads, “The space race is on-in a flurry of slingshots, fireworks, and giant bat wings, as the Madballs and GPK take to the skies in a mad dash to beat each other to the Moon! Plus: In the far future, Earth is a high- tech utopia where peace reigns and everything is in its place. That is, until archaeologists uncover the still-feuding Madballs and GPK-who bring a much-needed bit of anarchy to an all-too-quiet-and-predictable world.” The comic is written by Sholly Frisch, with all the artwork done by Jason Crosby. As with the other issues, there are covers by Joe Simko, Crosby, and a vintage fight poster by Ken Haeser. There will be a number of other cover variants offered for the issue. The comic is available for preorder whoever comics are sold. The final issue of the series is set to his store shelves May 10, 2023.

Abrams to Offer 2024 Garbage Pail Kids Desk & Wall Calendars

The 2023 day to day GPK desk calendar proved to be a hit with collectors. So much so that Abrams Books is going all in for 2024. The book publisher is planning on offering two GPK themed calendars for 2024. The Garbage Pail Kids Day to Day Calendar features 366 different GPK characters to celebrate each day of the year. The calendar is available to preorder from Amazon right now, with a retail cost of $17.99. Collectors can expect to see it released on 9/26/23. The company is also offering the 2024 Garbage Pail Kids Wall Calendar. The 12” x 12” calendar features 16 months, (9/23-12/24). Amazon has the wall calendar available for preorder for $15.99. The calendar is also set to be released 9/26/23. There are no pictures available yet for the products. Collectors are sure to never miss a day in 2024!

Garbage Pail Kids Pop-Up Yearbook Available for Preorder

Insight Editions is back with their latest GPK offering. The Garbage Pail Kids Pop-Up Book is now available for preorder on Amazon. The book is created by paper crafter Matthew Reinhart, with all the GPK art by Joe Simko. The book is filled with dozens of pops, pulls, slides and other interactive features. The preview for this issue reads, “The Garbage Pail Kids and Madballs ride the range as cowpokes (hey, someone’s got to poke those cows). Dynamite Entertainment has posted the preview for Madballs vs. Garbage Pail Kids Slime Again Issue #2. The preview for this issue reads, “Arrrh, mateys!   Weigh anchor for horrible hijinks on the high seas as the Madballs set sail for a pirate adventure with Skullface on their flag and…well, never mind what’s on the poop deck.  Plus: Italy in the 16th Century: The Sistine Chapel needs a paint job…and the GPK and Madballs both want the gig!  There’s only one way to choose: a no-holds-barred paint-off!” The comic is written by Sholly Frisch with all the artwork by Jason Crosby.
