Partial Sell Sheet Info for 2025 Worst of GPK 40th Anniversary
Update: Here is the sell sheet for 2025 Worst of GPK 40th Anniversary set. PDF version is here.
Updste: Topps has posted the official odds to the preorder page this morning. The big news for. The odds sheet is there are Buyback cards at 1:8 packs. As always I’ll have an in depth article looking at production numbers. You can find the odds in PDF here.
Some quick thoughts on the odds and production.
- Production looks to be just over 26k cases. 4-5x the last Sapphire release. This is much lower than a usual retail release, but higher than your usual online release.
- Really looks like Topps took a retail set and shoe horned it into a Sapphire distribution model.
- This product is all about the inserts and hits. Based on early numbers each box will only have 8 base cards! (80) per case. Will take at least 2 cases to make a base set. (Thanks to Ben Siegler for doing early morning math!)
- It’s easier to pull an Adam Bomb Homahj auto than an Adam Bomb Homahj regular card! This is because Topps needed hits to get to one per box.
- 1 buyback card per box seems like a lot.
- There looks to be 1000 GPK Yourself cards. Topps hasn’t revealed how the contest will work yet for that.
This article will be updated with more information as it’s released.
Earlier today we posted about some information Topps shared on their preorder page for 2025 Worst of Garbage Pail Kids 40th Anniversary. Information has slowly been coming out throughout the day. Blowout Cards appears to have acquired the sell sheet for the product, but it doesn’t look like all information was shared. Here are the newest details on the set.
Based on the post on Blowout Buzz’s website boxes will have eight 5-card packs. There will be 10 boxes per case. Each pack is set to include at least a Green parallel and 4 base cards. Two packs per box will have two numbered cards. Each box contains one, “hit”, either an auto, sketch, or printing plate.
The base set is comprised of 100 cards. All cards are reprints of the top GPKs from the last 40 years. There appears to be 100 subjects all numbered as “a” versions. A “b” name version of each will be a short print, while a “c” name version will be a super short print. No odds were provided for the “b” or “c” name cards. All of the “a” name base cards come in 11 different parallels; Booger Green (Unnumbered), Crumpled Garbage (Unnumbered), Purple (/199), Drool Blue (/99), Fool’s Gold (/50), 40th Anniversary Ruby (/40), Sour Orange (/25), Bruised Black (/10), Bloody Nose Red (/5), Foilfractor (1/1), and Printing Plates (4 each). As usual there are a number of insert sets, many the contains new artwork. There will be Global Takeover, (characters in a different language), GPK Eras, (character debuts), Wacky Packages GPK Boxes, and Homage to Garbahj (40 versions of Adam Bomb by 40 different artists). The insert sets will have seven parallels; Drool Blue (/99), Fool’s Gold (/50), Sour Orange (/25), Bruised Black (/10), Bloody Nose Red (/5), Foilfractor (1/1), and Printing Plates (4 each).
The “hits” will include sketches, artists autographs and printing plates. Topps shows an auto by Tom Bunk. The Homage to Garbahj cards will also have autographs. Autos will also come in seven different parallels; Drool Blue (/99), Fool’s Gold (/50), Sour Orange (/25), Bruised Black (/10), Bloody Nose Red (/5), Foilfractor (1/1), and Printing Plates (4 each).

The base cards will be reprints from sets over the past 40 years. Each card will have the 40th logo on them. There will be plenty of parallels including the new “rare” Ruby parallel. There will be a 40 card insert set of Adam Bomb, Homage to Garbahj. The set features 40 new versions and Adam Bomb done by 40 different artists. Topps mentions there will be autograph cards, rare parallels and the usual sketch cards. There is a mention of looking for super rare 40rh sketch cards done by artists Joe Simko and Tom Bunk. Finally there is mention of a contest to have your own GPK card in a future product. Topps also mentioned Hobby boxes will indeed be 8 pack/5 card boxes. This might be all the info that is released for the preorder.
Topps today, via their Twitter account, revealed a couple of interesting tidbits about the upcoming preorder for 2025 Worst of Garbage Pail Kids 40th Anniversary. In their weekly schedule release tweet the company posted that Tuesday’s preorder would be for 5 card/8 pack boxes. The Hobby Box price is listed as “TBA”. The release time is set for 12:00 PM EST. The pack/box structure would be a major change in a retail GPK product. Not only is the pack total per box lower, but cards per pack is significantly lower at 5 cards per pack. GPKNews has heard today from one Retail Blaster distributor that this will be a Hobby only product. GPKNews has reached out to Topps for confirmation, but has not heard back. Since the Fanatics takeover of Topps, the company has moved to releasing very little information about products ahead of time. No sell sheets have been released about the product. The hope is Topps releases that with tomorrow’s preorder. 2025 continues to be a year of change for GPK.
