As first reported by GPK World, Wal-Mart has a pre-order listing up for a Garbage Pail Kids Advent Calendar. There isn’t a lot of info on the listing. It appears the calendar comes with many different GPK characters that can be made to stand up. Pre-orders are set to be delivered by 10/15/20. The calendar can be ordered for $49.99. Never to early to think about how to celebrate the holidays!
The latest challenge coin series from Adam Goldberg and Louis Gregory launched its first coin last Friday. The Sy Clops coin sold out in just mins. Now this Friday, 9/11, the second coin in the series is set to be released. The Luke Warm coin will be available to purchase starting at 1:00 PM EST. The coin will be limited to 100 copies. This is the second coin in the planned 5 coin series. They can be purchased on the GPKNation website. Be ready, they will go fast!
Topps today shared a Garbage Pail Kids September Newsletter that promotes both previously released and upcoming products. Everything GPK is included on the flyer. Both the upcoming 35th anniversary retail set, and WAX Blockchain set are advertised. There were some previously unannounced products revealed on the flyer. USAopoly will be launching a second 1000 piece puzzle in November. FYE is slated to launch mini-cereal boxes in stores and online on 9/17/20. Finally there are teasers for upcoming products in 2020 from Super 7, Geeki Tikis, and Mew Funkos! The 35th anniversary of GPK continues to be full of options for collectors!
Adam Goldberg and Louis Gregory are doing things very differently in the world of licensed GPK collectibles. A few weeks back Leo Challenge Coins begin offering weekly officially licensed GPK coins on their website GPKNation.com. They sold out quickly, within just a few mins. Gold plated versions soon followed, also selling out instantly.
They didn’t stop with just coins. Over the last couple of weeks collectors who are members of the GPN Nation Facebook group have been given exclusive access to pop up sales of officially licensed pins, keychains, and emblems. So far four pins; Sy Clops, Luke Warm, Mick Dagger, and Bony Jonie (/50), an Adam Bomb keychain (/25), and an Adam Bomb emblem set of 9 have been released. Collectors aren’t given very much notice of the sales. Sometimes just mins, other times a couple of hours. In all cases every item has sold out instantly.
The next item being offered has been given a few days notice. Louis begin teasing the newest coin to be offered this coming Friday. While no time has been announced, previous Friday sales have taken place at 1:00 PM EST. The large rectangular coin features Sy Clops on one side, with Adam Bomb on the other. The coin will be limited to /100. No other details, including pricing, have been revealed.
Collectors who want to add these limited coins, pins, and collectibles to their collections need to join the GPK Nation Facebook group, and keep your eyes peeled! You never know when the next item will pop up for sale.
Popular die-cast toy website, 3000toys.com, has listed a preorder for the next entry in the Greenlight Collectibles GPK lineup. After two series of six cars, Greenlight will only offer the Garbage Pail Kids Express Delivery. It’s described as a 2019 Mack Anthem 18 Wheeler Tractor-Trailer. This 1:64 sized die-cast truck is being advertised as a Hobby Exclusive. Once again collectors can find the rare Green Machine version randomly inserted in cases. No other information has been released, including pictures. 3000 Toys is selling the truck for $13.99 each. 12 truck cases are also available for preorder. Release is expected in Mar/Apr 2021.
During today’s Topps DigiCon twitch broadcast Topps announced the next WAX x Garbage Pail Kids release. In a surprise move, Topps is launching today Garbage Pail Kids Crash Gordon digital set on the WAX Blockchain. This release helps support the Topps DigiCon event being held this week. This launch will be different from previous WAX GPK launches. Collectors will be able to purchase packs beginning at 3:00 Eastern time on at the Atomic Hub website. Collectors can log in with their WAX wallets to purchase. The packs can only be purchased using WAX, the crypto currency. Collectors can purchase WAX by logging into their WAX wallet. Packs will cost 220 WAX, approximately $10 each. Topps and Atomic began giving away the first 500 packs at 1:00 Eastern on the Atomic Hub website, 1 per account. Collectors attending the Topps DigiCon broadcast were first told of the giveaway. There will be 3000 packs going on sale at 3:00. There are still an additional 1500 packs scheduled to be minted, but there is no word when those will go live. With 5000 total packs, there will be 25,000 total cards minted. Packs can not be opened until 3:00 Eastern.
Each pack will contain 5 GPK Crash Gordon digital cards. There are only 3 types of cards this release, base, Prism, and Gold. Each pack has the following chances to pull cards:
Chalk Line Apparel announced two new Garbage Pail Kids clothing items that will be on sale soon. Announced were a jacket and shorts both covered with various OS 1 cards. Titled the 35th Anniversary Garbage Pail Kids Collection, the clothing items are set to be released by the company next month. Chalk Line’s post reads, “Next month we revisit our youth once again with The 35th Anniversary Garbage Pail Kid Tribute Collection. This jacket and pair of shorts both feature Series 1 of GPK as an All Over Print on both the jacket and shorts.”
Seems like a natural fit. For the first time, eBay is working with Topps to launch an officially licensed exclusive card set. Today Topps launched Garbage Pail Kids eBay set. The set features 10 cards, 5 new paintings with a/b versions. All the gags are parodies of all things eBay and trading cards. All artwork for the set was created by artist Joe Simko. The set is available for $19.99. Shipping is free. The set can only be purchased on eBay’s website via the Topps Vault page. The set will be available for 7 days. Did you try out any of the digital WAX x Topps Garbage Pail Cards? If so you may have a couple of gifts waiting for you in your account. Topps partnered with Blockchain Heroes to pass out exclusive versions of a new card, Atomic Adam. The card was created to help promote a new upcoming digital NFT launch called Blockchain Heroes. All WAX wallets that contain a GPK or BCH card were gifted two cards Wednesday night. Everyone received the “common” version of the card. Everyone also received one parallel version. The different versions available, and chances accounts had to receive them are; Uncommon (59.35%), Rare (25%), Epic (12%), Legendary (3%), Mythic (.5%), and Golden Fury (.15%). Blockchain Heroes is a set based on popular blockchain figures, turned into superheroes. This version of Adam Bomb was drawn to match the superhero theme of the set. The back of the card features Atomic Adam’s back story. This marks the first time new Garbage Pail Kids artwork has debuted on the WAX Blockchain. Collectors wishing to check out what card they received must log into their Wax Cloud Wallet at the Atomic Assets website. BCH is based on the new Atomic Assets standard, therefore the Atomic Adam is only visible on sites that support Atomic Assets. Collectors can view their Atomic Adam and buy/sell versions of the card there. Be sure to check your account, you may have a valuable card waiting for you!
After three hugely successful coin launches, collectors will get a chance to add a little gold to their collection. The first three coins from Adam Goldberg all sold out within minutes. This Friday, GPKNation.com will offer all three of the officially Topps licensed coins in a 24 KT gold plated version. Coins will cost $99.99 each, with purchases limited to 1 of each coin. There will only be 35 of each coin available. Coins will go on sale this Friday, 8/7, at 1:00 EST. This is the last planned version of these coins. The company will begin offering a new series of coins and pins in the coming weeks.
