It took a few days, but Topps has posted the sales for Garbage Pail Kids Bizarre Holidays August Week 4. The set sold a total of 516 copies. This is slightly higher than week 3, and falls right in line with most sets. The holidays sets have found a regular following from collectors with little variation. There is no end in sight for the weekly set, as they have already entered the sixth month in Sept.

They’re back, did you miss political GPKs? Today Topps surprised collectors by launching Garbage Pail Kids Disg-Race to the White House Set 8 GPK National Convention. After many months of Topps moving away from political cards, they are back with a large set celebrating the recent presidential national conventions. Today’s sets features 16 cards, 8 with a/b versions. Each set can be purchased for $34.99 or in a lot of 10 for $314.99. Shipping is free when choosing the SmartPost option. Was one of the days last week yo-yo day? Print runs for the weekly holidays sets are yo-yo’ing so far in August. After ending Wed., Topps revealed the print run for Garbage Pail Kids Bizarre Holidays August Week 3. Sales for the week was 449 sets. This is nearly 200 less than week 2 sales, and even lower than week 1. Collectors may be focusing on only certain art and gags they enjoy. The gags are strong for Week 4, so we could very well see the yo-yo trend continue.

Who gave the Garbage Pail Kids driver’s licenses? Today Topps launches On Demand #17 Garbage Pail Krashers. The newest online set features various GPKs in almost a Mario Kart type of mashup. The base comes with 21cards, broken down to 1 Header card, 10  car names, and 10 character names. All artwork for the set was completed by artist Joe Simko. Each set purchased also comes with 2 license plate back cards, 2 artist roughs, and 1 5×7 poster. Collectors also have a 1:2 chance of receiving a sketch in their set. Tonight on the Topps’ Garbage Pail Kids Facebook page they put up a teaser image for an upcoming online set. Garbage Pail Krashers is set to go on sale this Thursday according to the post. The set is expected to be the next On Demand GPK set from Topps. It would appear GPKs are getting their turn in crash up driving parodies. Topps ode to the 40th anniversary of Flash Gordon found some success with collectors. After ending yesterday, Topps revealed the print run for Garbage Pail Kids Crash Gordon 40th Anniversary. The set sold a total of 538 copies. Despite being one of three online releases last week, collectors still continue to purchase anything GPK. The sales numbers are right in line with the weekly holiday releases. The online onslaught of sets shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

That’s the highest sales for a holiday set since June, and the second best selling holiday set so far this year.
