After ending last week, Topps has updated the print run information for 2022 Garbage Pail Kids  Oh the Horror-ible Expansion Set Week 1. The set sold a total of 1,383 copies. The sales fall right in line with previous sales of the six week expansion releases. The number is down compared to the Oh the Horror-ible NYCC set sold the week prior. This was the first week for a six week planned series of nothing but horror themed GPKs. Week 2 is available still for another couple of days.

Topps Selling Player Autos for MLB x Garbage Pail Kids Series 1 Set

Topps is making all they can out of their new MLB/GPK mashup. The company began today selling player autos individually on their website for the first two players in the set. On-card autos from Bobby Witt Jr. and Juilo Rodriguez are available for 7 days or until sold out. Each card is available in various parallel colors; Green /99, Blue /49, Purple /25, Red /10, Orange /5, and Gold 1/1. Topps is using dynamic pricing on these, meaning the cards are being priced based on player collectibility and perceived demand from Topps. Rodriguez cards are priced higher across the board compared to Witt for example. The cards are not cheap, prices range from the low of $199.99 for the Witt Green to a high of $1,499.99 for the Rodriguez Gold. Both Gold 1/1 cards sold out quickly, with the Orange Rodriguez soon after. All others remain available as of this writing. The initial pack sale for this set sold out after a few days, although print run information has not been released by Topps. Topps also sold artist proof versions of each card /49 over a number of days. Collectors should expect other autos to go up for sale in the coming days.

Topps Reveals Print Run for 2022 Garbage Pail Kids x Comic Con Oh the Horror-ible Set

GPK collectors always like their horror themed cards. This year’s set that was offered both online and at NYCC proved to be no exception! After ending  earlier in the week, Topps revealed the print run for 2022 Garbage Pail Kids x Comic Con Oh the Horror-ible set. The set sold a total of 2,127 copies on topps.com. Those sales do not include the sales at NYCC, which sources say were right around the 700 mark. These are excellent numbers for an online set with no packs or sketch cards. The sales beat last year’s horror con set by 400, and were slightly below the Clash of Clans set released earlier this year. Despite the large number of launches in the past couple of months, collectors continue to purchase sets are new record numbers. Collectors aren’t done with horror just yet, as a new six week expansion Oh the Horror-ible set has just begun.

Topps Reveals Print Run for Garbage Pail Kids Taste Buds Series 2

The second series for one of the more controversial GPK sets of the year has ended and the sales numbers are out. Yesterday, Topps revealed the print run for Garbage Pail Kids Taste Buds Series 2. They sold a total of 2555 packs this time around. Sales were down around 800 packs compared to the first series, released earlier in the year. It’s unclear if the base set will have 40 or 41 cards. The listing and checklist say 40, but the pictures show a checklist/header card. If there is 41 cards again, the sales equates to 623 possible base sets. Gold parallels would be limited to 62 copies each. These numbers are only based off what was sold online. Topps does not release how many packs are giving to the breweries to sell. Each brewery reported receiving 500 packs with the first series of the release.

Topps Reveals Print Run for 2022 Garbage Pail Kids Krashers Series 3

After ending a week ago Topps has finally revealed the print run for 2022 Garbage Pail Kids Krashers Series 3. The GPK car mashup sold a total of 2,447 sets. In a surprise, the set did not sell out within the 7 day sales window. It looks like Topps overestimated the demand for the set. The sales were still strong for a GPK On Demand set, but the saturation of GPK launches the past few months may be finally catching up to Topps. Collectors have continued to complain they are unable to afford the amount of new releases from the company. GPKNews was able to confirm 1,450 sketch cards completed from 27 of the 28 sketch artists on the series. That means there was right around 1500 sketches commissioned by Topps for the set. With odds of 1:2 per set, that means that sadly just under 300 sketches won’t end up in collectors hands. It also means there will not be as many Foil parallels dispersed. The releases aren’t scheduled to slow down anytime soon as more will be coming in October.
