Like previous weeks, this week contains 10 cards, 5 new pieces with a/b versions. All artwork was done by David Gross and Brent Engstrom. Each set purchased comes with one sepia parallel card. Collectors also have the chance to randomly receive a piece of final artwork from this week’s set. This week’s giveaway piece is the Leave it to Beaver card done by Brent Engstrom. Bang! Pow! Batman helps to lead to solid sales! After ending last Thursday, Topps has finally revealed the print run for Garbage Pail Kids Prime Slime Trashy TV expansion set week 2. The set sold a total of 1,824 copies. This number was down nearly 400 from week 1 sales, but still really solid numbers for a GPK online set. The free final art giveaway and popular characters like this week’s Batman card are proving to be very popular for collectors.

After ending on Thursday, Topps has revealed the print run for Garbage Pail Kids Prime Slime Trashy TV expansion set week 1. Collectors showed up for the first week of sales with the total coming in at 2,229 sets sold. This is higher than all the expansion sets from last year, and the highest online sales so far in 2023. The offer of a final painting giveaway surely helped to attract additional sales. Can the six week series keep the early momentum going?

Topps Teases Garbage Pail Kids Prime Slime Trashy TV Expansion Sets

Today the official GPK Facebook account shared a teaser for the next round of online expansion sets, Garbage Pail Kids Prime Slime Trashy TV. Much like the expansions sets last year, there will be six weeks of online sets offered by Topps for this series. The gags are a follow up to the 2016S2 retail set with the same name. Collectors can expect to see cards based on both newer popular shows and some past shows that weren’t included the first time around. David Gross and Brent Engstrom will be doing all the artwork for the sets. The sets will also again come with one parallel card per set. Topps has some other surprises in store for collectors. According to the teaser picture, the first set will launch next Thursday, 4/20/23.

Topps Reveals Print Run for 2023 Garbage Pail Kids Not-Scars

GPKs remain an hot item. After ending last week, Topps has revealed the print run for 2023 Garbage Pail Kids Not-Scars. The set sold a total of 2,066 copies. Over two thousand sales for a regular online set with no sketches is a fantastic number. The sales are right in line with the top online sets from last year. This set sold over 4x the number compared to the last Not-Scars set sold in 2020. Awards sets have historically not been the most popular, but this set seemed to break that trend. Topps has  stopped revealing sales figures for packed out and on demand online offers, so this is the first sales result we are getting this year. So far it looks like GPK remains very popular with collectors.

It’s been a few years, but the kids are back with gags focused on this year’s Academy Award Nominees. Today Topps launched 2023 Garbage Pail Kids Not-Scars online set. Formerly a yearly tradition, this is the first Not-Scars since 2020. There are a total of 10 cards in the set, 5 new pieces with a/b versions. Artists Brent Engstrom, Joe Simko, Joe McWilliams, and Neil Camera did the artwork for the set. Each set purchased also comes with one parallel card. Topps Launches 2023 Garbage Pail Kids Valentine’s Day is Canceled

Love is in the air again! The annual GPK set with a Valentine theme is back. Today Topps launched 2023 Garbage Pail Kids Valentine’s Day is Canceled. This year’s set contains 20 base cards, 10 new pieces in a/b versions. Artists Joe Simko, David Gross, Brent Engstrom, Joe McWilliams, and Neil Camera each did two pieces for the set. Each set purchased comes with 28 cards; 20 base cards, 3 red heart parallels, 1 black heart parallel, 2 dating profile inserts, 1 C name, and either a sketch or foil card. Foil cards are available in unnumbered foil board, gold /50, and rainbow /25. There is also a Deaf Geoff card by Ermsy inserted 1:5 sets. Additionally a short printed box featuring Lovely Lea is 1:10 sets. There are no odds listed on the sketch cards. There are a wide selection of sketch artists on the set, from one making his debut (Laurich), to an artist doing sketches for the first time in years (Gross).
