2020 Garbage Pail Kids Chrome OS 3 Retail Sell Sheet

Fresh off this morning’s release of the Hobby sell sheet, the retail sheet for 2020 Garbage Pail Kids Chrome OS 3 is out. Like its hobby counterpart the sell sheet advertises the base set will be comprised of OS 3 cards in addition to some “limited new art”. This set picks up where Chrome 2 left off, continuing the OS sets printed on shiny thicker chrome card stock.

Once again Topps will offer two different retail configurations. Value Boxes and Fat Packs. The popular chrome parallels are set to return. Prism Refractors /99 (This is a difference from what is listed on the Hobby sell sheet /199, however GPKNews has confirmed with Topps that Prisims will be /199), X-Fractors /150, Superfractors 1/1, and Printing plates 1/1 can be found in all pack types. Artist autographs and C name variations are also scheduled to be in all pack types. Regular refractors can be found in all pack types as well. According to the sell sheet each Fat Pack will have 1 refractor, while each value box will have 2 refractors. Atomic Refractors will also return exclusively to Value boxes. Each Value box will come with 3 Atomic Refractors wrapped separately.

Each Value box will contain 5 packs plus the pack of Atomic refractors. Continuing a recent trend, Value Box cases will have 40 boxes. Each Value box carries a MSRP of $20. Each Fat Pack will come with 11 chrome cards, and carry a MSRP of $10. There will be 108 Fat Packs in a case.

Packaging Mock-up for 2019S2 GPK Revenge of Oh the Horror-ible Surfaces

We are getting closer to the release of the next retail set, 2019 Series 2 Garbage Pail Kids Revenge of Oh the Horror-ible. A mock-up for the retail blaster box has surfaced online thanks to retailer Hal Greenspan. The box is shaped like a coffin and features OS character Weird Wendy as the set’s mascot. The set should start hitting stores 9/25/19.

GPK Oh the Horror-ible Dollar Tree Packs/Boxes Hit Store Shelves

Thank to GPK collector Luke Parks for being the first to post images and let the community know that Dollar Store packs/boxes are now out for 2018 Series 2 Garbage Pail Kids Oh the Horror-ible. These no-frills packs are a tradition every release. These are only made for Dollar Tree stores. Each pack comes with 4 base cards, with a SRP of $1.00. There are no “hits” in these packs, no parallels, no inserts, etc. Collectors buying these like having an unopened pack/wrapper for their collection. The boxes are also sought after for collectors wanting empty boxes. They resemble the old gravity feed boxes, just a little smaller. Collectors were not sure if Topps was going to continue to produce the Dollar Store packs, since the Target Gravity Feed boxes were cancelled beginning with this release. However, it appears the tradition will continue. Be sure to hit up your local Dollar Tree for some base card love.

2019 Series 1 Garbage Pail Kids We Hate the 90’s Retail Sell Sheet

Earlier this week Topps released the Hobby/Collector sell sheet for 2019 Series 1 Garbage Pail Kids We Hate the 90’s. Thanks to Wildwood Enterprises we are able to bring you the retail sell sheet. The first set of 2019 is shaping up to be almost a sequel to 2018’s We Hate the 80’s set. Just like with this month’s 2018S2 Oh the Horror-ible set, the base set will contain 200 cards, (100 new paintings in a/b versions). This is the last set that Colin Walton was the Art Director/Editor on. The majority of the set was complete prior to him leaving Topps. The formula is much the same as the previous sets. The decade of the 90’s will be parodied in a handful of subsets. Topps however, is making a few changes to the insert lineup.

In perhaps a bit of a surprise, Gravity Feed boxes are being offered by Topps for the 90’s set. After offering them initially for 2018S2 Oh the Horror-ible, Topps announced a short time later they were cancelled. The fate of Gravity Feeds for the 90’s set will rest on weather Target wants to order them. You can expect more cancellations if retailers don’t order the feeds. To hedge their bets, Topps states on the sell sheet that the Classic 90’s Insert set will appear in both Gravity feeds and regular retail display boxes, (also marketed as Hobby boxes). This way if Gravity feeds are cancelled again, the insert will still appear in retail packs. Previously the “Classic” insert sets were found in Fat Packs. Not only has the set moved pack types, but will now be 10 cards instead of 20. The set is described as, “The top ten 90’s pop culture GPKs return!” Puke (Green) parallels will return 1 per pack in all retail pack types. Fool’s Gold borders randomly inserted in all pack types are also back and limited to /50 of each. What is not mentioned on the sell sheet are the Phlegm (yellow) parallels. Previously found only in Gravity Feeds, the yellow borders rarely made a mention on past sell sheets. So it remains to be seen if Gravity Feed boxes return, and if Phlegm parallels join them. Finally as always, artist autographs, printing plates, and regular sketches can be found in all retail pack types.

While there are many questions around gravity feeds and regular retail boxes, the same can’t be said for Blaster boxes. The same exact formula is being followed as with 2018S2 Oh the Horror-ible. Once again there will be two different Blaster versions, and once again Bathroom Buddies will appear in both. Both boxes will contain 3 cards from the “lost second series of the 90’s GPK spin-off” Bathroom Buddies. The only difference in boxes appears to be one will have a $9.99 price label, and the other box without. Blaster boxes will continue to have 5 packs each, and contain 16 boxes per case. The popular Loaded Puzzle sketches will be randomly inserted into Blaster boxes once again.

Fat Packs will also follow the same formula being used for 2018S2 Oh the Horror-ible, with one change. The hanger packs are roughly twice the size of a regular retail pack. Each pack will come with two Puke parallels. The packs will also feature two cards in the new 90’s Wacky Pails insert set. The insert set is describes as, “Twenty Wacky Packages from the 90’s, now featuring classic GPK characters!” The new Jelly parallel, expected to debut in the 2018S2 Oh the Horror-ible set, will be returning once again, falling at a rate of one per pack. Finally, Panoramic Sketch Cards will also be randomly inserted into Fat Packs.

2016 Prime Slime Trashy TV Blister Packs Out

img_0226Thanks to GPK collector Mike Gatz, who looks to be the first one to find Prime Slime Blister packs in the wild. Mike found them at his local Walmart. Topps changed up the Blister pack format this set, the packs. now come with 2 packs, in addition to 2 Adam Bomb Your TV bonus stickers. The Walmart price was $4.97 per Blister. The odds on the back of the Blister are the same as a regular retail pack. Here are a couple of pictures of the packs and the bonus cards.

Blaster Box and Gravity Pack Odds for GPK Prime Slime Trashy TV

image002Thanks to GPK collector Eric Bonde for sending along pictures of the retail odds for 2016 Garbage Pail Kids Prime Slime Trashy TV. According to packs, all the expected items can be found in retail packs. Once again, the Yellow Pee borders return to gravity feed packs. Loaded Sketches will also be found in blaster boxes. The big news, and confirming what the Jumbo retail odds showed, is that production is way up compared to the Apple Pie set released earlier this year. Odds for every type is harder to pull. This is especially true with sketch cards, despite there being 13 additional artists, the odds are still a lot harder than the Apple Pie set. It will be interesting to see if cards fall at the stated rate on the packs. Here are the odds:

2016 Garbage Pail Kids Prime Slime Trashy TV Gravity Feed Pack

Yellow Pee Border – 1:4
Fool’s Gold – 1:58
Printing Plate – 1:1849
Artist Autograph – 1:245
Sketch Card – 1:379

Retail Jumbo Odds for GPK Prime Slime Trashy TV

image002Thanks to eBay user boogiebabies2013 for sending along a picture of the pack odds for Jumbo Retail of 2016 Garbage Pail Kids Prime Slime Trashy TV. No surprises on what is included in a jumbo retail pack. As expected the Panoramic sketch cards are found in Jumbo retail packs. However what is surprising is how tough the odds are. We won’t know the full picture until all pack type odds are known,  but all items are tougher to pull compared to the Apple Pie set. One very interesting thing is Panoramic sketches, despite 33% more artists than the Apple Pie set, the Pano sketches are twice are hard to pull in the Trashy TV set. It would appear a lot of Jumbo Retail packs were produced. Keep checking GPKnews as other pack types are found.

Here are the odds for Jumbo Retail 2016 Series 2 Prime Slime Trashy TV:

Fool’s Gold – 1:29
Printing Plates – 1:996
Artist Autograph – 1:122
Sketch Card – 1:186
Panoramic Sketch Card – 1:991

2017 Series 1 Garbage Pail Kids Adam-Geddon Retail Sell Sheet

imageRetail info is out for the first series of next year, 2017 Series 1 Garbage Pail Kids Adam-Geddon. For the most part Topps is following the same formula as they did with both 2016 sets. However, as with Hobby/Collector packs, Topps is making major changes to the number of cards in each pack. All regular retail packs found in retail boxes, gravity feeds, blasters, and blisters will now contain 8 cards per pack. Each pack will come with 7 base cards and 1 Puke parallel card. Previously, retail packs have been coming with 10 cards per pack. No word yet on the manufacture’s suggested retail price from Topps on retail packs. Pre-order prices for Hobby/Collector boxes are lower than previous series.

The rest of the retail formula stays pretty much the same. As mentioned, Puke green parallels will fall 1 per retail pack, while Gold Dust parallels numbered to /50 can be found in retail. Once again artist autographs, regular sized sketch cards, and printing plates will be randomly inserted. This matches the Hobby pack configuration for this release. For the first time since the Flashback series it appears there will be little difference in Retail and Hobby packs, (Of course pack odds could end up being the difference maker once released.)

Blaster boxes are returning, but with one other big change Topps is making. Blasters will now come with 5 packs per box, compared to the previous 4 packs per box. Once again, Topps is making two types of Blasters, SE boxes will include 3 Gross Bears reprinted cards, while the EA boxes will contain 3 Bathroom Buddies reprinted cards. The popular Loaded Artist Sketches will also be randomly be inserted in Blaster boxes.

Jumbo “Fat Packs” will also be offered at retail. Each Jumbo pack will contain 19 base cards and 3 Green Puke parallels. Also inserted will be two “Classic Adam-Geddon Stickers”. There is no mention of Panoramic Sketches on the sell sheet this time. In the 2016 sets the Panoramic Sketches were found inserted in the Jumbo packs. Blister packs previously sold at Toys r Us and Wal-Mart will also return. Each Blister will contain new versions of Adam Bomb/Boom called, “Adam Bomb’s Armageddon Stickers”.

GPK Apple Pie Blisters from Fairfield/Excell Show Up in Stores

blister2GPK collector Ronnie Pasillas looks to be the first to come across a new Blister pack of Garbage Pail Kids American as Apple Pie packs in stores. Packaged by the Fairfield Company, a division of Excell Marketing. Inside each Blister is two retail packs of GPK AAAP. Ronnie found these at his local Rite Aid store for $4.99 each. A few weeks back collectors began to notice Excell had pulled AAAP packs from Target instead of letting them sit on the shelves as is usual. It would appear those packs are now showing up as part of these Blisters. Earlier this year Fairfield/Excell launched a very successful Trash Box consisting of previous released 2012-2014 packs of GPK. Thanks to Ronnie for the info!

2016 Garbage Pail Kids Series 2 Prime Slime Trashy TV Retail Sell Sheet

image002Last week we posted information on the Hobby/Collector Sell Sheet for the newly announced, 2016 GPK Series 2 Prime Slime Trashy TV. As retailers begin posting the new set for pre-orders we now have the Retail Sell Sheet. Based on the retail sell sheet for 2016 GPK Series 2 Prime Slime Trashy TV, Topps looks to be following the same formula they did in the 2016 Series 1 Apple Pie set.

The usual retail inserts and parallels will once again appear. The Green Puke parallel is back at one per retail pack, in addition the Fools Gold parallel will be found throughout all pack types and will be # /50. Artist Autographs and Printing Plates will also be found through out all pack types. While regular sized artist sketch cards will be randomly inserted into all retail packs.

Screen Shot 2016-05-09 at 8.35.59 PMTopps decided to continue the Bathroom Buddies/Gross Bears reprints in Series 2. As with the AAAP release there will be two different Blaster Boxes. “EA” Boxes will contains 3 different Bathroom Buddies cards, while “SE” Blaster boxes will contain three different Gross Bears cards. Also like the previous release, Topps will be randomly inserting artist Loaded Puzzle Sketch Cards in Blaster boxes. These 4 card sketch cards featured some of the best work in 2016’s first GPK series.

Blister packs which were sold in Wal-Mart and Toys R Us with the Series 1 release will also return. This time new versions of Adam Bomb/Boom will be found in Blister packs only called, Adam Bomb Your TV Stickers.

Also returning is Fat Packs. These packs will contain 18 base cards, 2 Puke parallels, and 2 Classic Rerun Stickers. No information yet on the set size for the Classic Rerun stickers, but Series 1 offered an 18 card Patriots set in a similar fashion. Another draw for the Fat Packs is this is the only place to find single artist Panoramic Sketch cards.

As you can see Topps is going with the same formula in Series 2 as they used in Series 1 for 2016. The only thing we don’t know yet is if the Yellow Pee borders will continue as a Target Gravity Feed exclusive. 2016 Garbage Pail Kids Series 2 Prime Slime Trashy TV is set to hit stores on 10/5.
