GPK Yourself Contest Page Goes Live

Have you ever wanted to become a Garbage Pail Kid? Now’s your chance! Topps is offering collectors a chance to have a GPK of themselves in a future set as part of the 2025 Worst of GPK 40th Anniversary set. Collectors can find codes in boxes of the new 40th set. GPKNews has confirmed with Topps that codes can be found one per box. There is a QR code on the contest cards that leads to the contest page on Topps’ website. The page went live earlier today with the launch of the new product. On that page is a link that leads  to another website to enter your contest code. According to the rules posted on the website the contest is open from 7/30/25 – 1/1/26. The contest is only open to residents of the US and Canada. There will only be one winner chosen. The winner will have their card appear in next year’s 2025 Garbage Pail Kids Universe set.

Topps Announces 2024 GPK Battle of the Bands Green Day Preorder

It’s been over a year since Topps teased a Garbage Pail Kids set based solely on the band Green Day. Fans will finally get their shot at collecting the set. Topps announced the preorder for 2024 Battle of the Bands Green Day. Boxes go on sale for preorder tomorrow, 7/29, at 12:00 PM EST on topps.com. No pricing or release date has been revealed by the company yet. Topps however did reveal some details on the set, including releasing the checklist. The base set contains 100 cards, 50 new gags with a/b versions. All cards are based on the the history of the band Green Day. The set is also filled with a massive eight different insert sets. The inserts sets are; B-Sides (16), American Idiot Short Prints (6(, Sweet Children (8), Tribute to the East Bay (8), Battle of the Bands (6), Dookie 30 Years (8), Album Art (14), and Standing Room Only (7). Additionally, collectors can find both autographs and relics from the band; Autograph Cards (3), Triple Auto (1), American Idiot Triple Auto (1), Tour Relics (4), Auto Tour Relics (6), and Auto Triple Tour Relics (2). Artwork for the set was done by David Gross, Joe Simko, Brent Engstrom, Joe McWilliams, Neil Camera, Rory McQueen, and Lowell Isaac. Topps has yet to reveal any other information on the set. This post will be update if other details are revealed prior to the preorder.

Topps Offering Launch Day Sale for 2025 Worst of GPK 40th Anniversary

Did you miss out on the Topps preorder for 2025 Worst of Garbage Pail Kids 40th Anniversary edition? Then you may be in luck! Topps has updated their landing page for the set with what appears to be launch day sales information. According to the page the sale will launch on July 30, 2025 at 1:00 PM EST. Boxes originally went on sale on Topps website on 6/10 for $79.99 per box and $799.99 per case. Topps has not shared if those prices will remain for the launch day sale. Topps also sold out quickly for their preorder boxes, it’s unknown how many boxes Topps will have available on launch day. Collectors will need to be ready, boxes could sell out quickly.

Bonus Cards Revealed for Abrams Garbage Pail Kids 40th Book Re-release

As announced back in March, Abrams Books is rereleasing their popular Garbage Pail Kids OS1-OS5 reference book to celebrate the 40th anniversary of GPKs. While the book is the same, it will contain brand new bonus cards. Artist Brent Engstrom revealed the cards via his Instagram account this weekend.  The four cards all feature classic OS characters celebrating the 40th anniversary with new artwork. Cards include, Adam Bomb (Art by David Gross), Nasty Nick (Brent Engstrom), Leaky Lindsay (Joe Simko), and Dead Ted (Joe McWilliams). Collectors should expect this artwork to show up in multiple spots throughout the year, The David Gross Adam Bomb card has already been shown as part of the Greenlight SDCC car. The book can be preordered now anywhere books are sold. The Garbage Pail Kids 40th Anniversary Edition is set to release Oct. 14, 2025.

Thrilljoy Announces Garbage Pail Kids PIX! Adam Bomb Figure

Thrilljoy is entering the GPK arena. The company lead by former Funko CEO, Brian Moriotti, has announced new Garbage Pail Kids figures for this year’s San Diego Comic Con. The company will be offering a Garbage Pail Kids Adam Bomb PIX! figure at their booth (#4845) and online. The figure comes blind boxed with the either the main Adam Bomb figure, a Dead Ted Chase figure (1:6), and a 40th Anniversary Adam Bomb Super Chase (limited to 48 pieces). Super Chase odds have not been revealed. Each figure also comes with a certificate of authenticity in the form of a collector’s card. The boxes state the figure is limited to 6000 pieces. Figures can be purchased at the company’s booth or online beginning on 7/23 for $19.99 each. The company has a landing page on their website site now for the figures. There are a few new GPK items planned for this year’s SDCC which takes place 7/23-7/27 at the San Diego Convention Center.

Topps Reveals Print Run for 2025 GPK InterGoolatic Mayhem Week 6

After ending yesterday Topps has revealed the print run for 2025 Garbage Pail Kids InterGoolatic Mayhem Week 6. The set sold a total of 1,698 copies. This was the final week of the six week series. The sales numbers were down slightly from week 5. The final four weeks of sales were all in the same ballpark. Really solid sales once again for an online GPK series. Plenty more planned for 2025 with online sets both one offs and another six week series. Collectors should keep their eyes open!

GetAGrip Launches OS8-OS11 Sorting Mats

GetAGrip is back with another early offer to Birthday Bash Club members. The company is launching OS8-OS11 versions of their popular sorting mats. Members of the Adam Bomb 40th Birthday Bash were sent an email today with links to purchase each of the sorting mats. Each mat measures 31.5” x 24”. The mats is available to purchase for $39.99. Birthday Club members get a 24 hour head start to purchase the mats before they go on sale to the general public at 1:00 PM EST on 7/11. In a post advertising the mats, GetAGrip says they will be limited to /50 copies and only on sale for 48 hours. The last batch sold out quickly, so don’t delay!

Greenlight Offering 40th Anniversary Garbage Pail Kids Diecast Truck at SDCC

Greenlight Collectibles begin releasing information on their SDCC exclusive items, and once again Garbage Pail Kids are in the spotlight. The company will be offering a show exclusive Garbage Pail Kids 40th Anniversary Ford F-150 diecast truck. The truck comes with a new Adam Bomb 40th anniversary card with artwork done by David Gross. The truck also has the 40th GPK logo on the door. The truck will be available in two color options, original yellow, limited to (1032 pieces) and a green chrome chase variant (96 pieces). The truck can be purchased from Greenlight’s booth (#834) for $25 (yellow) and $40 (chase green). This year’s San Diego Comic Con is set to take play 7/23-7/27 at the San Diego Convention Center.

Atomic Toybox Plans New Garbage Pail Kids Enamel Pins at SDCC

We are a little over two weeks’s away from this year’s San Diego Comic Con, and companies are beginning to reveal the show exclusives they will have at the show. Atomic Toybox will once again have new officially licensed Garbage Pail Kids enamel pins.  The two new glow in the dark pins feature classic GPK artwork of Adam Bomb. There will be an Adam Bomb and Adam Boom titled pin. Each pin purchased will also come with an exclusive promo card, Charred Chad vs. Adam Bomb. Pins are limited to /250 and can be purchased from Atomic Toybox’s booth (#3921) for $15 each. For those unable to make the show, the company will be putting 100 of the pins on their website available to order on 7/23 at 5:00 PM PST. The company will also have copies of the previously released GPK Sket-One art print available for $150. Each print is different as the artist added elements individually to each print. SDCC is set to take place 7/23-7/27 at the San Diego Convention Center.
