Cards are being sold individually two per day for this set. Todays cards are #9, Oinking Owen, and #10, Hooked Heidi. Each order also has a 1:5 chance at an unhappy face parallel card. Each card can be purchased for $9.99, or in a lot of 5 for $29.99, 10 for $49.99, or 20 for $79.99. Shipping is free when choosing the Economy/SmartPost option. After the second day, sales remain strong for Worst set of the year. Today Topps revealed the print run for Garbage Pail Kids 2022 Was the Worst cards #3-#4. Sales for card #3, Yeet Pete, were 1,258. Sales of card #4, Artifcial Art, were 1,127. While sales were down considerably from the first two cards, those totals remain very strong for individual GPK sales. How will the rest of the week play out?

2022 Garbage Pail Kids Chrome OS 5 Retail Odds

Fresh off the Hobby odds surfacing today, we now also are starting to see the retail odds for 2022 Garbage Pail Kids Chrome OS 5. Thanks to Clint Coleman from GPK and Wacky Warehouse for the pictures of the Blaster odds! While the Hobby odds were very close to Chrome 4, the Blaster odds are way off, and almost all of them don’t make sense. For most of the non-exclusive parallels the odds are 8x-9x higher compared to Chrome 4. The odds equate to only a couple of parallels per case. So far, based on the first case Clint is opening, the odds don’t appear to be accurate. Odds for the exclusive Black refractors, autos, plates, C cards, and No Blue Ink short print cards appear to be more reasonable. Gold parallels, which were suppose to be exclusive to retail products as listed on both Hobby and Blaster packs. GPKNews will have much more on the odds and production in the coming days once people bust blaster cases.

Card Giants has Hanger boxes posted on their website for sale. The odds are very high on those as well, even higher than Blaster packs. Hopefully the odds are incorrect like they are on Blasters too. As expected there are no exclusive parallels available in Hanger packs. Here are the Retail odds for Chrome OS 5.

2022 Garbage Pail Kids Chrome OS 5 Hobby Odds

It’s a Christmas miracle! Despite the release of GPK Chrome 5 still being two days away, boxes started showing up in collectors hands today. Thanks to collector Kyle Ber for sending along pictures of the Hobby odds. In a surprise, odds for Gold Refractors appear on the hobby wrappers. Golds were announced as a retail exclusive, so it will be interesting to see if Golds are indeed found in Hobby Packs. With three types different types of SKUs being offered this time, we will need to wait for retail odds before knowing the full production numbers. However, the numbers line up very similar to the odds for Chrome 4 Hobby. I’ll have much more with a details production article in the coming days. Topps decision to offer this year’s Worst set as individual cards at $10 each, did not deter collectors from buying. Today Topps revealed the print run for Garbage Pail Kids 2022 Was the Worst cards #1 & #2. The sales were tremendous! Card #1, Eaton Elon, sold a huge number of 3,593. Card #2, Astroid Hunter sold 1,437 copies. The lure of an Elon card seemed to be the main selling point. Although both sales numbers are excellent results for individual cards. With sales like these, Topps is sure to look at selling more individual GPKs in the future.

Here are the categories to be voted on this year:

  • 2022- Retail Set of the Year – This category returns in 2022, after 2021 saw only one set released. 2022 had both Book Worms and Chrome 4! What was your favorite set of the year?
  • 2022 Online Set of the Year – Topps kicked it into overdrive with online sets in 2022. There are a lot to choose from! What was your favorite online release of the year?
  • 2022 Non-Traditional Set of the Year – New category for 2022! Topps expanded their distribution methods in 2022. To collect these sets you had to visit a Convention or hobby store. Which one was your favorite?
  • 2022 Digital NFT Set of the Year – There is no award category for NFT set of the year. After taking many months off, Topps only released one NFT set this year. Topps is poised to offer more GPK NFTs in 2023!
  • 2022 Licensee of the Year – So much licensed GPK merchandise in 2022! Which company did it best this year?
  • 2022 GPK Rookie Sketch Artist of the Year – The rookie sketch artist award is taking 2022 off. There were only two artist debuts in 2022. Let’s see if Topps adds more new talent in 2023!
  • 2022 GPK Sketch Artist of the Year – To be eligible an artist must have had official Topps GPK sketch cards appear in a set in 2022. There were only one retail, two online, and one con set to feature sketches this year. There are over 60 artists to choose from! Don’t see your favorite on the list? Feel free to choose the write-in option and vote for them!
  • 2022 GPK Artist of the Year – To be eligible an artist must have painted an official Topps GPK final published card in 2022. Retail, Online, Convention, and Licensed sets are eligible. Don’t see your favorite on the list? Feel free to choose the write-in option and vote for them!
  • 2022 GPK Card of the Year – All GPKs published in 2022 are eligible. Retail, Online, Convention, and Licensed cards are eligible. For nomination purposes if a/b versions are available, only the “a” card is listed. There are hundreds to pick from! Don’t see your favorite on the list? Feel free to choose the write-in option and vote for them!

Categories and nominees were chosen by the Editor of GPKNews.com. Any GPK releases after 12/16, including Chrome 5 and future online releases, will be eligible in next year’s (2023) awards. Categories such as best artist, sketch artist, and best card also contain a write-in option. Write-in votes will only be counted for a valid artist/card. Voting will be live from Friday 12/16 through Saturday 12/24 @ 8:00 PM(PST). Voting will only be done through Facebook. Participants can only vote once. Vote totals or individual votes cast will not be made public. Winners will be revealed in a future article that will appear on GPKNews.com right around the 1st of January.
