The card features vice president candidates, Tim Kaine and Mike Pence, as baby Godzilla and baby King Kong doing battle over a toy block city. The artwork fits nicely with card #1 based off the first presidential debate. As with previous Disg-Race cards you can purchase the card individually for $9.99 or in lots of 5 for $29.99, 10 for $49.99, or 20 for $79.99. Shipping in free when choosing the Smart Post option. Topps Reveals Print Run for GPK Prime Slime Awards

artgpk-16c2s-16gpap-pacs-setThe results are in, and it appears collectors did not vote in the Prime Slime Awards. Today Topps revealed the print run information for the Garbage Pail Kids Prime Slime Awards online set. The set, which was for sale a couple of weeks back, featured entertainment personalities to coincide with the Emmy awards show. The set did not fair well with collectors as it set a record for the lowest sold online exclusive. All but one card sold only 106 copies, besting the previous low by almost 100 copies. It will be interesting to see if fans just didn’t like the entertainment concept, or if fans are just tiring of the online sets. This so far was the last online set to be sold online, as Topps moved into the almost daily release of Disg-Race to the White House cards. Here is the print run info as revealed on Topps.com.

  • Absorbed Amy – 106
  • Lookalike Larry – 106
  • Ecstatic Ellie – 106
  • Torn Tina – 106
  • Kit’s Kingdom – 106
  • King Kevin – 106
  • John Revolta – 107
  • Cookie Monster – 106
  • Convicted Cuba – 106
  • Bombastic Bryan – 106

GPK Disg-Race to the Whitehouse Sells Big

Card #1 sold a huge 1196 copies during the 24 hours it was available on topps.com store. The sale becomes the most successful selling online exclusive card to date besting the first Donald Trump offering from the Iowa Caucus set. While Topps hasn’t yet released any additional GPK Dicg-Race cards they have released 3 separate debate cards under the Topps Banner. Those cards along with the GPK one have been placed on their website under the 2016 Election banner, print run information will be posted for each card at the bottom of that section of their site. I’m sure its just a manner of time before the next GPK election themed card will be up for sale.

Topps Launches GPK Disg-Race to the White House Card #1

artgpk-stic-16gpkrace-0001_fr_1Topps began their Print on Demand initiative earlier this year by selling Garbage Pail Kids sets exclusively online. From there Topps has launched Print on Demand products across multiple brands. Probably their most successful so far has been Topps Now, which celebrates baseball highlights everyday with new cards sold individually. It looks like Topps has decided to go that route now with GPK as today Topps launched Garbage Pail Kids Disg-Race to the White House Card #1. The new cards are not labeled as part of the American Pie or Trashy TV set, but instead on their own with the date the card was for sale printed on the back. No word yet on how many cards Topps is planning to produce as part of the set, but they setup a separate section on their website for the GPK 2016 Election. Similar to Topps Now the more copies of the card you buy the cheaper they are. Single cards can be purchased for $9.99, while multiple copies of the same crd can be bought for; 5 for $29.99, 10 for $49.99, or 20 for $79.99. Free shipping is offered when selecting the SmartPost option. The card is only available for 24 hours. Like with other online releases Topps says they will release print run info at the end of the sale.
