After the last political set ended earlier today, Topps officially revealed the print run for Garbage Pail Kids Disg-Race to the White House Set 5: Presidential Nicknames. The set sold a total of 1,687 copies. This is a bounce back after set 4 sold just over 1300 copies. This set is the 3rd highest selling online set to date. Once again collectors continue to be out in full force for online GPKs despite a troubled economy and coronavirus concerns. The set listed this week is going to be the last one for a while as Topps waits for coronavirus events to subside. Topps does have a new online set in the works, set to debut next week.

Now that the democratic field has whittled down to just two, Topps is celebrating those who have dropped out. Today Topps launched Garbage Pail Kids Disg-Race to the White House Set 6: Presidential Dropouts. This 12 card set features 6 new paintings with a/b versions. The art for the set was done by Chris Meeks (#29), Neil Camera (#30-#32), and Rory McQueen (#33-#34). This marks the debut on final art for veteran GPK sketch artist Rory McQueen. Each set can be purchased for $24.99 or in a 10 set lot for $124.99. Shipping is free when choosing the Smart Post option. The set will be on sale for 7 days on topps.com. Topps will reveal the print run at the end of the sale. All indications are this will be the last political set for a while. This won’t end the political series, but instead Topps is putting a hold on it until the presidential race heats back up after the coronavirus starts to clear up. The world turning upside down didn’t seem to prevent collectors from still purchasing the latest GPK political set. Today Topps revealed the print run for Garbage Pail Kids Disc-Race to the White House Set 4: March Mayhem. After just ending this morning, Topps revealed the print run to be a total of 1,357. The sales numbers are down from the first three sets sold. However, the sales still remain high showing collectors are all in on this year’s presidential cards. Topps looks to have moved to an every week release, with set 5 launching earlier today. It will be interesting to see if sales can remain high with both weekly sales and coronavirus concerns.

The artwork for the cards were done by David Gross (#19-#21), and Neil Camera (#18 & #23), and Chris Meeks (#22). Each set is available for $24.99 or in a lot of 10 for $224.99. The set sold a total of 1,689 copies. This is a few sets higher than set 2, and becomes the second highest selling online GPK set ever.
