Collectors will have plenty of new official Garbage Pail Kids promo cards available to them at this weekend’s Philly Non-Sports card show: Here’s a rundown of what collectors can look for at the show.
From the show – There are a number of promo cards that will be given out at the show. A four card tribute set to Roxanne Toser done by artists David Gross, Joe Simko, Joe McWilliams, and Neil Camera will be the highlight for many collectors. Attendees of the show will receive one of the cards free with entrance to the show. Collectors wanting the entire set can purchase one for $10 at the show with profits going towards the Historic B’nai Jacob Synagogue. Additionally, the first 100 collectors in line at the show at 1:00 PM Sunday will receive both a regular and mental card of another Roxanne tribute with art done by Sam Barugh.
David Gross – All the artists in attendance will have new GPK promos to kick off 40th. David Gross will feature artwork that was intended for the Chrome 7 set, but not used due to an error at Topps. The Chrome version of Adam Boom will come in A, B, and even a C version. All cards can be purchased at Gross’ booth at the show. Additionally, Gross will have three new cards for his Rejected series, three new sports parodies, and one last new card on personal stock.
Joe Simko – Simko announced he will have a 40th promo with new artwork featuring Adam Bomb. Super Adam and Birthday Blast Billy can be purchased at his booth at the show. Each card is limited to 100 copies. Simko will also be selling some of his GPK, Craniacs, Cereal Killers, and Stupid Hero’s cards at the show. He will also have original GPK paintings, and will be taking sketch commissions for GPK and Craniacs.
Smokin Joe McWilliams – Joe will have his own 40th GPK promo card at the show featuring brand new artwork available to purchase at his booth. He will have his giant size stickers featuring GPK characters he’s painted. He will have some Gogoponies vinyl LPs with with GPK inspired artwork he did for the band. He also will have a number of GPK sketch cards an available for purchase.
