GPK Apple Pie Blisters from Fairfield/Excell Show Up in Stores

blister2GPK collector Ronnie Pasillas looks to be the first to come across a new Blister pack of Garbage Pail Kids American as Apple Pie packs in stores. Packaged by the Fairfield Company, a division of Excell Marketing. Inside each Blister is two retail packs of GPK AAAP. Ronnie found these at his local Rite Aid store for $4.99 each. A few weeks back collectors began to notice Excell had pulled AAAP packs from Target instead of letting them sit on the shelves as is usual. It would appear those packs are now showing up as part of these Blisters. Earlier this year Fairfield/Excell launched a very successful Trash Box consisting of previous released 2012-2014 packs of GPK. Thanks to Ronnie for the info!

Topps Announces Print Run for GPK 4th of July Set

artgpk-stic-16gpkps-cs-set_2Topps today announced the print tun for their online exclusive Garbage Pail Kids American As Apple Pie 4th of July Founder Fathers set. The set was available for sale from 6/29 – 7/5 on Topps website and featured 4 pieces of new artwork drawn by Joe Simko and Brent Engstrom. For the first time in a while the sales numbers increased a bit from previous sets with the lowest cards selling 219 copies. Here is the print run information as announced on the Topps Blog.

Topps to Offer Trashy TV & Presidential Candidate Jumbo Cards at San Diego Comic Con

Topps will once again offer collectors some exclusive Garbage Pail Cards at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. SDCC is set to take place 7/20-7-24 at the San Diego Comvemtion Center. Similar to last year, Topps will offer offer two Jumbo 5 X 7 card sets. This year Topps will reuse artwork previously offered in online only sets.

One set being offered will feature 10 presidential candidate cards. 5 cards will be of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, and 5 cards of Republician nominee Donald Trump. All cards were previously offered in regular card size in various online sets sold the past few months. The entire 10 card set will cost $20 at the convention.

The second set being offered is a 10 card Prime Slime Trashy TV promo set. This same set was previously offered in regular card size a few weeks ago via topps.com. The 10 card Trashy TV set will also cost $20 at the convention.

Also like last year the sets will be sold at the Atomic Toybox booth (3921). No word yet on the print run for these jumbo SDCC sets. Thanks to GPK collector srezvan an for the heads up on the offering. For more information visit this link.

Topps Launches GPK 4th of July Online Set

The set consists of 4 new subjects featuring founding fathers each being offered as a 2 card a/b set for $9.99. The entire 8 card set can also be purchased for $24.99. Topps is also offering free shipping on the set. This time Topps will sell the set online through 12:00 EST on 7/5/16. Topps To Release GPK Founding Fathers Online Set Tomorrow

According to Topps Entertainment/GPK Brand Manager Mark Von Ohlen, Topps will be releasing another online exclusive set tomorrow. Sold via their online store the set will feature founding fathers to celebrate the 4th of July.

Topps Reveals Print Run for GPK Presidential Losers Set

artgpk-stic-16gpkpl-cs-set.pngTopps announced the print run today for their GPK Apple Pie Presidential Losers set. This 20 card set was sold on Topps website last week during a 48 hour period. This set continued Topps summer run of offering presidential election themed set, however this time the front runners and most popular cads were not included. Here is the print run as revealed on Topps Blog:

As has been the case with the last few sets this group of cards set another new sales low for the online exclusive sets. With the exception of the Chris Christie card none of the others broke the 180 mark. Without Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton in the set it failed to grab as much interest as previous sets. Look for Topps to continue offering presidential sets through the November election.

Topps Launches GPK Presidential Losers Online Set

Topps today began offering GPK American As Apple Pie Presidential Losers cards exclusively online. The set is made up of 10 presidential candidates that have long since dropped out of the race. Many subjects have yet to appear in the previous presidential sets and all cards feature new artwork. Each candidate is available as a two card a/b set for $9.99 or the entire 20 card set can be purchased for $49.99. As with the last couple of online sets these will be on sale for 48 hours. Topps is advertising the cards will be pulled down at 4:00 PM Eastern on 6/8.

Topps Announces Print Run for GPK Prime Slime TV Preview Set

The 10 card set was available for 48 hours last week exclusively on Topps website. Like the other GPK entertainment and presidential candidate sets Topps continued to label this under their Series 1 American As Apple Pie banner despite this being a preview for their Series 2 set due later this year. Topps Launches Exclusive Online Prime Slime TV Preview Set

artgpk-stic-16gpkps-cs-setJust a few weeks ago Topps announced the next regular Garbage Pail Kids release Prime Time Trashy TV, set to release in stores on 10/5/16. Today via the Topps Store, Topps launched a preview set for the new series, 2016 GPK American As Apple Pie In Your Face Prime Slime TV. That’s a mouthful! Topps decided to release this preview set under the Apple Pie banner as they have been doing with other online sets these past few months.This set contains 5 new cards based on popular TV shows. Each card can be purchased in an a/b pair for $9.99 or the entire set can be purchased for $29.99. This time around Topps is giving everyone 48 hours to purchase the new cards. In fact their store says the cards will be taken down at 12:00 PM (EST) on 5/27. Once again Topps stated the print run for this set will be revealed on their Topps Blog.

Topps Launches Posters for Recent Online Sets

ARTGPKLE-POS-16GPAP-1126-GOLD-S-2Topps on Friday launched new online exclusive 10 X 14 posters for the latest American as Apple Pie online sets. Posters are now being offered of the same artwork from the Mega Tuesday Presidential Candidates set, the April Primaries Presidential Candidates set, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Lame set. All cards can be purchased as a base white border poster for $19.99 each. While special 1 of 1 gold border posters can be purchased for $99.99. Topps had offered posters for their previous online exclusive sets, while some still remain for sale from past sets. Posters can be purchased at Topps online store.
