With San Diego Comic Con in full swing this week, Topps continues it’s tradition of offering an online set. Today Topps launched 2018 Garbage Pail Kids Summer Comic Convention online set. The huge 20 card set consists of 10 new GPK pieces available in a/b variations. Concepts for the cards cam from various GPK artists, (Gross, Simko, Engstrom), while they appear to have been painted by artist JungHwa Im. The set is available for $49.99. Shipping is free in the US with the SmartPost option, and $10 for international shipping. The set will be available on Topps.com for 7 days. Topps will reveal the print run at the end of the sale. Fireworks, hot dogs, and GPK! All three have been traditions in recent years. With last week’s launch of 2018 Garbage Pail Kids 4th of July online set, collectors had another chance to add to their collection. Today Topps revealed the set sold 168 copies. The total is right in line with sales from previous online sets sold earlier this year. This year’s 8 card set was comprised of both GPKs and Wacky Packages. All the artwork for the set was completed by artist Robert Jimenez.

After a bit of a break, online GPKs are back. Last time Topps offered any online cards was a couple of months back with the Hall of Lame set. Today Topps launched Garbage Pail Kids 2018 4th of July set. The set consists of three new GPK paintings, with a/b versions, and two Wacky Packages.  All the artwork for the set was completed by artist Robert Jimenez. The eight card set is available for $29.99. Shipping is free in the US with the SmartPost option, while international shipping is $10. The set can be purchased for the next seven days at Topps.com. This year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductions are over, but did fans show up to buy their GPKs? Today Topps revealed the print run for 2018 Garbage Pail Kids Rock & Roll Hall of Lame online set. After calling the set “Hall of Fame” during the week it was for sale it appears Topps has changed the name of the set back to the previously used “Hall of Lame”. Sales for the set continue to be strong compared to online sets from last year. Sales for the 9 card all GPK set came in at 171 total copies sold, almost the same as the recent Not-Scars set. There might be a lull in online sets, as award shows are over and we are holidayless for the next few weeks.

Topps today launched their annual ode to the music’s biggest acts. Today Topps Launches 2018 Garbage Pail Kids Rock & Roll Hall of Fame online set. This GPK only set consists of 5 new images and 11 total cards. Four cards come in the usual a/b versions, while one will have three names. All the art in the set was completed by David Gross and Brent Engstrom. The set can be purchased for $29.99. Shipping is free in the US via the SmartPost option, or $10 for international. For the first time since putting out online cards Topps decided to add an Easter themed set to their lineup. Today Topps revealed the print run for 2018 Garbage Pail Kids Easter online set. This set was smaller that most online sets, with just 7 total cards. With just 2 GPKs (with a/b versions) and 3 Wacky’s, collectors were vocal about the higher price per card than usual at $29.99. However, that didn’t stop them from purchasing the set. The set finished with selling 195 copies. The total is right up there with other holiday themed sets, and well above the awards sets. If history is any indication collectors can expect some musical and comic convention themed sets as the spring and summer months are upon us.

Did Topps win any awards from customers for their latest online set? Today Topps revealed the print run for 2018 Garbage Pail Kids Not-Scars online set. The set with celebrated the recent Academy Awards show was a mix of both GPKs and Wacky Packages. In the past customers were not on board with award show sets. However this set bucked that trend with total sales of 172 copies. This handily beat the other awards sets and held its own with recent online holiday releases. The results are a little surprising considered customers only receive 8 cards with a $34.99 price tag. However, the art in the set has been well received by collectors, garnering much better reviews compared to the Valentine’s set. It shows that when the art and gags are done well, collectors are willing to purchase. With awards season coming to a close no word yet on the next online release.

Did collectors feel the love this past Valentine’s Day? Topps latest online holiday themed set went on sale last Wed. for one week. As has been the recent tradition, the set contained a mix of GPK and Wacky Packages. Newer artists completed the artwork this time, with Miran Kim doing all the GPKs, and Robert Jimenez doing the Wacky’s. Collectors showed they continue to like the holiday sets better than awards sets. Total sales for the set ended at 170. That total puts it slightly under the Thanksgiving set. Expect Topps to be back on the awards cards with a set based on the Oscars soon.

Do you feel the love in the air? Topps is getting into today’s Valentine’s fun with an online offering. Today Topps launched 2018 Garbage Pail Kids Valentines online set. The 9 card set features 3 new pieces of GPK artwork (a/b versions), and 3 Wacky Packages cards. All familiar characters are found on he GPK versions in the set. All three GPK cards were completed by artist Miran Kim. The set is available for $34.99 on Topps.com online store.
