Topps today begin preorders for 2024 Bowman Chrome Baseball Mega boxes via Topps.com. With that came new information and reveals about the Garbage Pail Kids cards included in the set. While Topps didn’t reveal odds for GPK Bowman cards on their Hobby odds sheet, they did for Mega Box odds. Base cards show as 1:200 Mega packs. There are also different parallel versions offered in Mega boxes, compared to Hobby boxes. Collectors will have the chance to pull Orange Mojo /25 (1:841), Red Mojo /5 (1:4,205), and Black Mojo 1/1 (1:20,293). Mojo parallels appear to have different patterns on them compared to Chrome parallels according to past year’s set examples.

Topps also revealed the GPK Bowman checklist for the first time. There will be 23 players included as GPK characters. There doesn’t appear to be a/b versions. In an odd choice, Topps lists the players by their real name on the checklist and not by their GPK name.

Based on reported odds and information from Topps, I’ve been able to figure out print run info for Hobby and Mega boxes. What we don’t yet know is if there are additional box types for Bowman Chrome Baseball and if GPK cards will be included in them. Here is a quick break down of each box type announced so far by Topps with print runs based on odds supply by Topps.

2024 Bowman Chrome Baseball is set to release next week, 9/11/24.

Topps today on their various social media channels revealed some additional details on the GPK cards to be featured in Bowman Chrome. In addition to base versions, each card will also have a Red /5, and a Superfractor 1/1 version. The company showed off 8 of the more than 20 characters that will be available.

While Garbage Pail Kids collectors patiently await information on the next GPK Chrome set, Topps is having the GPKs invade baseball! Topps has tapped artist David Gross to add some GPK flavor to their popular 2024 Bowman Chrome baseball set. Bowman Chrome focuses on the top Rookies and Prospects in MLB. Details for this year’s Bowman Chrome set including checklist, odds, and preorders went live on Topps.com this past week, and sell sheets hit distributors today. Sadly, Topps did not reveal very much information regarding GPKs inclusion. In fact the sell sheets are completely absent of information regarding the GPK cards. Pulling one of these cards looks to be no easy task. Topps did include information to distributors that a GPK Bowman insert would be a case hit in Hobby boxes. Information via Blowout Cards and Dave & Adams reveals, “Each CASE contains One Bowman Ascension Insert OR Bowman GPK Insert”. Gross painted a number of player gags for the set. Set structure, such as a/b versions, card type (chrome vs. paper), and player checklist has not been revealed yet by Topps. Should more information be revealed by Topps, this post will be updated. Bowman Chrome Baseball is set to be released Sept. 11, 2024.
