Topps Launches Garbage Pail Kids Krashers 4

The forth annual Krashers derby is upon us! Today Topps launched Garbage Pail Kids Krashers 4. This marks the forth straight year of GPKs reimagined with their race cars from the mind of artist Joe Simko. The base set contains 21 cards. Each set ordered contains 1 base set along with 3 license plate insert cards (15 in set), 2 drivers licenses (10 in set),  1 pop Krashers card (5 in set), and either 1 foil card, 1 sketch card, or 1 relic card (1:10) (3 in set). Foil cards are available in Gold (/50) or Rainbow (/25). While the listing shows the odds for relics, no odds for sketches are listed. These sets also appear to come in special boxes, regular red and limited yellow (1:10). There are a total of 26 sketch artists listed on the checklist. This includes the debut of brand new GPK artists Steve Crockett, Kimber Grobman, Albert Collado, Brian Rubio. Topps Teases Garbage Pail Kids Krashers Series 4

Topps today, via their GPK Facebook page, began teasing the upcoming Garbage Pail Kids Krashers Series 4 online set. A teaser image featuring Dead Ted on his graveyard looking vehicle is shown. No other information about the set has been revealed. Collectors can expect sketches to be randomly inserted info sets. The set will launch on Topps.com Thursday, 9/28.

Topps Reveals Print Run for GPK We Hate the 70’s Week 6

Last Thursday ended the latest six week series from Topps. Earlier this week the company revealed the print run for 2023 Garbage Pail Kids We Hate the 70’s Week 6. The final set in the series sold 1,035 copies. This number was slightly up from the previous week’s sales. The 70’s theme didn’t seem to resonate with collectors as much as horror or other expansion themes the company has done over the last year. The six week sets won’t be ending anytime soon, there are plans for addition online series. Collectors shouldn’t have to wait long before the next online offers hit the website.

Topps Reveals Print Run for Garbage Pail Kids We Hate the 70’s Week 5

After ending last Thursday, Topps finally revealed the print run for 2023 Garbage Pail Kids We Hate the 70’s Week 5. The set sold a total of 1,002 copies. This is down nearly 200 copies from the previous weeks. This is the lowest selling set of the series. Either collector interest isn’t holding with the series, or this week’s gags didn’t resonate. There is one final week left, with sales going on until Thursday. Let’s see how sales finish up.

After four weeks of sets based on the 70’s, it’s clear there is a set number of collectors for this series. After ending Thursday, Topps revealed the print run for 2023 Garbage Pail Kids We Hate the 70’s Week 4. The set sold a total of 1,189. That number makes it the lowest selling set of the series, but was just two sets slower than week 3. Weeks 2-4 have been very consistent in sales. Just two weeks left to see how sales wrap up.

We are at the half way point for the online series based on the 1970’s and it looks like the sales have settled. After ending Thursday, Topps revealed the print run for 2023 Garbage Pail Kids We Hate the 70’s Week 3. The set sold a total of 1,191 copies. While the number is the lowest sales so far of the series, it’s just a handful below the week 2 sales. It would appear that sales will settle right around the 1200 mark. This series hasn’t quite caught the attention of collectors as much as previous six week online series. The coming weeks will see if there are any increases.

After ending Thursday, Topps has revealed the print run for 2023 Garbage Pail Kids We Hate the 70’s Week 2. The set sold a total of 1,214 copies. This number is down over 300 copies from the first week. This was the second set in a six week series showcasing the best of the 1970’s. For whatever reason the 70’s sets aren’t resonating as well as the previous Prime Slime series did. Let’s see if sales can rebound as the series progresses.
