Garbage Pail Kids All New Series Guide

Congratulations your cards are part of the All New Series (ANS) release of Garbage Pail Kids. Topps released a total of 7 series from 2003-2007. Generally our collections we had when we were kids were not stored well, ex. Rubber Bands = Bad. Also keep in mind collectors aren’t going to pay anything extra for sentimental value. Continue on to get a general idea how much your cards are worth.

  • Step 2 – Is there writing on the backs of your cards? STOP! Your cards are close to worthless. Condition is everything to collectors. Generally collectors only want Near Mint – Mint condition cards. For a detailed description of card conditions check out PSA’s website.
  • Step 3 – Look at the corners of the cards, are they fuzzy, rounded in any way, are there any creases? STOP! Your cards are close to worthless. Condition is everything to collectors. Generally collectors only want Near Mint – Mint condition cards. For a detailed description of card conditions check out PSA’s website.
  • Step 4 – Are your cards off centered? Is the main picture centered within the border? PAUSE! If the centering is 70/30 or better and the card is otherwise in nice condition continue, otherwise, STOP! Your cards are close to worthless. Condition is everything to collectors. Generally collectors only want Near Mint – Mint condition cards. For a detailed description of card conditions check out PSA’s website.
  • Step 5 – Check the copyright date on the card again.
    • If your card has 2003-2006 you have ANS 1 – ANS 5 cards. You will want to check the checklists at gpkworld.com to determine which series they are from. Topps released multiple series in the same year and numbering started at 1 for each series. I’m sorry to say these aren’t in large demand, and can be found easily online for sale. Complete sets will go in the $25-$50 range, while you can only expect to get .05-.10 or less per card in lots. Collectors looking to complete their sets might go .50-$1 for the few remaining cards they need.
    • If your card has 2007 you have ANS 6 – ANS 7 cards. You will want to check the checklists at gpkworld.com to determine which series they are from. Topps released multiple series in the same year and numbering started at 1 for each series. These cards are slightly rarer and will go for more money. ANS 6 sets can be found for $75-$100, and singles for $1. ANS 7 sets can be found for $50-$75 and singles for .50-$1.
    • If any of your cards have a B#, you have a Bonus card. I would encourage you to check eBay as prices for as Bonus cards tend to fluctuate greatly. You might have a $2 card or a $100 card.
    • If any of your cards are different and not a regular base card, then you have a insert card from one of the sets. You will want to check the checklists at gpkworld.com to determine which series they are from. Topps released multiple series in the same year and many series have the same insert set. In general the inserts will go for $1-$3 each except for the ANS 3 Scratch and Sniff insert cards. The SnS cards very widely in pricing, I encourage you to check eBay for accurate pricing.
    • Do you have a hand drawn artist sketch card? Those were inserted into ANS 4 Hobby boxes. I encourage you to check eBay for pricing. Prices on sketch cards can fluctuate based off of artist, subject, and detail of the sketch.
