All the GPK at 2021 San Diego Comic Con At Home

For the second year in a row, this year’s San Diego Comic Con will be an at home event as the country continues to deal with the pandemic. The show is scheduled to take place this weekend 7/23-7/25. Once again, collectors can find a few Garbage Pail Kids related items at this year’s show. Read on to find out when and where to get your GPK SDCC fix.

Abrams

Abrams will be focusing on their GPK book series by RL Stine. On Friday, 7/23 at 1:00 PM PST, they will be holding a one hour panel called Garbage Pail Kids: Yuck-tastic Books and More. The discussion features author RL Stine, Topps VP of Licensing Ira Friedman, GPK book voice actor Tara Sands, and GPK book editor Charles Kochman. Collectors can view the panel live at SDCC’s website or after on their YouTube channel. Additionally, the official SDCC blog teased that Abrams will once again be offering a preorder bonus for the next GPK book, Camp Daze. Expect details to be available soon.

Super7

Super7 is back again this year with a new version of their Adam Bomb Reaction figure. The red coat wearing Adam can be preordered on 7/22 at 10:00 AM PST on Super7’s website. Once again the figure will cost collectors $20.

Atomic Toybox

Atomic Toybox is back once again with four new Garbage Pail Kids pins. There will be 200 glow in the dark pins of Adam Boom, Blasted Billy, Charred Chad, and Fryin Ryan available to collectors for $14.95 each. The pins go on sale on 7/23 at 9:00 AM PST on their Atomic-Nerd shop. The first 400 orders will receive an exclusive Fryin Ryan vs. Adam Boom trading card.

Shipping and Availability Updates on Garbage Pail Kids Licensed Merchandise

Does it seem like you have 10 Garbage Pail Kids products on preorder? Read on for updates on when all the announced officially licensed products are expected to ship!

Pinfinity

Pinfinity offered the first products to come from the GPK x Madballs crossover that was announced earlier in the year. Three different pin sets went up for preorder a couple months back. After initially expecting the pins to ship in May, they actually begin shipping last week. Collectors started receiving pins just in the last couple of days. Individual pins are still available for purchase at their website.

Mishka

The second product to use the GPK x Madballs crossover is Mishka. A t-shirt and promo card, (to the first 300 buyers), was sold via the NTWRK app back in early May. The shirts are no longer available for sale. The company tells GPKNews they expect to start shipping later this week.

Greenlight

Greenlight Series 3 diecast cars have been out for a few weeks now. However, collectors have been waiting even longer for the GPK Mack Truck. The truck was offered for presale by 3000Toys.com back in Sept. 2020! The original expected ship date was Mar/Apr. That date slipped to May/June a couple months back. Just last week word came out that the ship date has once again slipped, now to July/Aug. Will Greenlight beat the one year mark? Collectors can still preorder the truck at 3000toys.com.

The Loyal Subjects

TLS is taking advantage of the GPK x WWE crossover with four new figures of wrestlers based off of artwork previously used on cards and clothing. The figures are a Wal-Mart exclusive and first went up for sale in early April. Wal-Mart preorders still show the original delivery date as 7/9/21, while new purchases show delivery as 7/15/21. Collectors can still preorder the figures at Walmart’s website.

USAopoly

The game and puzzle maker are going all out this summer with new puzzles and games based on Garbage Pail Kids. The Thrills & Chills puzzle is out now and recently started shipping to collectors. The 4th GPK puzzle, Home Gross Home, is available for preorder on Amazon with an expected shipping date of 7/19/21. Finally, USAopoly will be coming out with a GPK Rubik’s Cube, which is also available to preorder on Amazon. Shipping on the cube is expected for 9/6/21.

GetAGrip Slateboards

GetAGrip opened up preorder sales recently for their second deck, a double Semi-Colin deck set. The decks are limited to 300, and the company sold the last available decks this past weekend. Collectors who were able to grab one can expect shipping towards the end of August.

Abrams

Last on the preorder bandwagon is the third book in the RL Stine Garbage Pail Kids series. Camp Daze is currently available for preorder with an expected release date of 10/12/21.

There will be many more Garbage Pail Kids items launching in the Fall and Winter. With Comic Cons opening back up, you can expect companies to return to traditional Con exclusives and launches. Buckle up it’s going to be a busy remainder of 2021.

Abrams Offering Pre-Order Gift for GPK Thrills & Chills Book

Have you pre-ordered the next book from author RL Stine in the kids Garbage Paul Kids series? If so, publisher Abrams has a gift for you. Like with the first book, anyone who preorders before 5/4 can receive a free gift from Abrams. Pre-orders Open for Garbage Pail Kids Book 3 Camp Daze

Abrams Books next installment in the GPK book series by author RL Stine has been announced. Garbage Pail Kids Book 3 Camp Daze is now available for preorder on Amazon for $14.99. Once again Jeff Zapata, Fred Wheaton, and Joe Simko are listed as doing the illustrations for the book. However, no artwork is available for the book yet. This will mark the third book in the series. Smellville (Book 1) was released in 2020, while Thrills and Chills (Book 2) is set to come out in May. Right now Camp Daze is set to release on 10/12/21. Here is the description from the listing.

The first Garbage Pail Kids children’s novel from RL Stine looks to be a success. Illustrator of the book, Jeff Zapata, posted that the book will be debuting on the next New York Times Best Seller List. Welcome to Smellville is the 7th best selling book in the Middle Grade Hardcover Children’s Best Seller list. Certainly of the books sell well the series will continue. The second book, Thrills & Chills, is set to be released in March 2021. Congrats to all involved!

 

Abrams Reveals Cover for Thrills & Chills GPK Book 2

While it was announced a few weeks back, Abrams has revealed the cover for Garbage Pail Kids Book 2, Thrills & Chills. This will be the second book in a planned three book series from author R.L. Stine. The cover was first revealed by SYFY in an interview with Stine on their website. The cover advertises there will be four new stickers that come with the book. Once again cover artwork was done by GPK artist Joe Simko. The book is currently up for preorder on Amazon and is scheduled to release on March, 23, 2021.

Abrams Announces Garbage Pail Kids Book 2 Thrills and Chills

As first reported by GPKWorld, Abrams books has announced the second release in the R.L. Stine Garbage Pail Kids book series. Titled Thrills and Chills, the book is scheduled to be released Mar. 23, 2021. Once again Jeff Zapata and Joe Simko are listed as illustrators on the book. There was no artwork shown, nor mention of any cards as of yet coming with the book. This will be the second book in a planned three book series with Goosebumps author R.L Stine. The first book, Welcome to Smellville is scheduled to be released Sept. 29, 2020. Here is the information given on Abrams website.

R.L. Stine to Write Series on Garbage Pail Kids

Entertainment Weekly reports this morning that author R.L. Stine has signed a 3 book deal to write a series of books based on the Garbage Pail Kids. Aimed at Middle Schoolers, the series will debut this fall with the first book, Welcome to Smellville and bile published by Amulet Books. R.L. Stine is known for his hugely popular Goosebumps series of books. GPK artist Joe Simko has drawn the cover art, while former GPK artist and editor Jeff Zapata will illustrate the inside. The first book is available for pre-order on Amazon now for 14.99. The description for the book reads:
