All the GPK to Find at San Diego Comic Con

San Diego Comic Con is back in person for the first time since 2019. This year’s show takes place with this Wednesday’s preview night and goes through Sunday. Garbage Pail Kids collectors going to the show will certainly not have a shortage of exclusives to look for. Here’s the list of everything announced so far.

Topps

Topps won’t be at the show in person, but they have partnered with nine of their licensees in a Trading Card Scavenger Hunt. Each licensee will be passing out one of 9 puzzle cards. The completed puzzle reveals new GPK artwork from Chris Meeks. The piece features numerous GPKs invading SDCC. Each card is limited to 500 copies, and Topps has supplied suggested daily limits to the booths, so collectors will want to get to the booths early.

Joe Simko

While Topps won’t be in attendance at the show, one of the main GPK artists, Joe Simko will be. Simko will make numerous appearances Friday and Saturday signing autographs. Simko will be at the Atomic Toybox booth (#3921) on both Fri. and Sat. from 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM. He will be at The Loyal Subjects booth (#2544) on Friday from 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM. They will also have previously released GPK merchandise at their booth for purchase.

ToyNK will be selling the previously released GPK playing card deck done by artist Hydro74. Collectors purchasing the deck ($15) will get either an Adam Bomb or Hot Scott bonus sticker. Each of the bonus stickers is limited to 1000 copies.

The Loyal Subjects (Booth 2544)

The Loyal Subjects will be offering new versions of two previously released figures. Their GPK x Stranger Things figures Demo Gordon and Waff Elle will be for sale in exclusive glow in the dark versions. Based on promotional pictures it also looks like the figures will come with updated GPK cards as well. The company will also have other previously released GPK figures available for sale at the show.

Shipping and Availability Updates on Garbage Pail Kids Licensed Merchandise

Does it seem like you have 10 Garbage Pail Kids products on preorder? Read on for updates on when all the announced officially licensed products are expected to ship!

Pinfinity

Pinfinity offered the first products to come from the GPK x Madballs crossover that was announced earlier in the year. Three different pin sets went up for preorder a couple months back. After initially expecting the pins to ship in May, they actually begin shipping last week. Collectors started receiving pins just in the last couple of days. Individual pins are still available for purchase at their website.

Mishka

The second product to use the GPK x Madballs crossover is Mishka. A t-shirt and promo card, (to the first 300 buyers), was sold via the NTWRK app back in early May. The shirts are no longer available for sale. The company tells GPKNews they expect to start shipping later this week.

Greenlight

Greenlight Series 3 diecast cars have been out for a few weeks now. However, collectors have been waiting even longer for the GPK Mack Truck. The truck was offered for presale by 3000Toys.com back in Sept. 2020! The original expected ship date was Mar/Apr. That date slipped to May/June a couple months back. Just last week word came out that the ship date has once again slipped, now to July/Aug. Will Greenlight beat the one year mark? Collectors can still preorder the truck at 3000toys.com.

The Loyal Subjects

TLS is taking advantage of the GPK x WWE crossover with four new figures of wrestlers based off of artwork previously used on cards and clothing. The figures are a Wal-Mart exclusive and first went up for sale in early April. Wal-Mart preorders still show the original delivery date as 7/9/21, while new purchases show delivery as 7/15/21. Collectors can still preorder the figures at Walmart’s website.

USAopoly

The game and puzzle maker are going all out this summer with new puzzles and games based on Garbage Pail Kids. The Thrills & Chills puzzle is out now and recently started shipping to collectors. The 4th GPK puzzle, Home Gross Home, is available for preorder on Amazon with an expected shipping date of 7/19/21. Finally, USAopoly will be coming out with a GPK Rubik’s Cube, which is also available to preorder on Amazon. Shipping on the cube is expected for 9/6/21.

GetAGrip Slateboards

GetAGrip opened up preorder sales recently for their second deck, a double Semi-Colin deck set. The decks are limited to 300, and the company sold the last available decks this past weekend. Collectors who were able to grab one can expect shipping towards the end of August.

Abrams

Last on the preorder bandwagon is the third book in the RL Stine Garbage Pail Kids series. Camp Daze is currently available for preorder with an expected release date of 10/12/21.

There will be many more Garbage Pail Kids items launching in the Fall and Winter. With Comic Cons opening back up, you can expect companies to return to traditional Con exclusives and launches. Buckle up it’s going to be a busy remainder of 2021.

USAopoly Coming Out With Garbage Pail Kids Puzzle

According to ADCdisribution’s website, USAoploy will be coming out with a Garbage Pail Kids puzzle. Thanks as well to Clint Coleman for the heads up on this! A few weeks back USAopoly officially announced a partnership with Topps that would include a GPK branded Monopoly game. Much like with the Monopoly game, information is scarce on the upcoming release. No info on the art being used, the number of pieces, or release date was available. Suggested retail price for the puzzle is $14.99. GPKNews has reached out to USAopoly, should they respond with information this post will be updated.

Box Art for Garbage Pail Kids Monopoly Surfaces

Yesterday toy distributor ACD posted their pre-order for USAoploy’s upcoming Garbage Pail Kids Monopoly board game. Along with the pre-order comes a picture of the box art for the game. Artwork for the game was completed by GPK artist Joe Simko. The box features a GPK version of Monopoly mascot Uncle Pennybags, along with classic GPK characters. The description for the game says it will come with 6 game tokens:

Relive the totally awesome 80’s with the MONOPOLY®: Garbage Pail Kids game! This game has the classic sticker artwork and new custom illustrations for a new generation of fans. Comes with 6 custom tokens.

USAopoly still hasn’t officially announced their partnership with Topps, however the game was first revealed in an article last year discussing plans for GPK licensing in 2020. No other information about the game was revealed, including a release date. The game is not yet available to pre-order to collectors. GPKNews has reached out to USAopoly for additional information. They are planning on sharing more info sometime in February on the game.
