All the GPK to Find at San Diego Comic Con

San Diego Comic Con is back in person for the first time since 2019. This year’s show takes place with this Wednesday’s preview night and goes through Sunday. Garbage Pail Kids collectors going to the show will certainly not have a shortage of exclusives to look for. Here’s the list of everything announced so far.

Topps

Topps won’t be at the show in person, but they have partnered with nine of their licensees in a Trading Card Scavenger Hunt. Each licensee will be passing out one of 9 puzzle cards. The completed puzzle reveals new GPK artwork from Chris Meeks. The piece features numerous GPKs invading SDCC. Each card is limited to 500 copies, and Topps has supplied suggested daily limits to the booths, so collectors will want to get to the booths early.

Joe Simko

While Topps won’t be in attendance at the show, one of the main GPK artists, Joe Simko will be. Simko will make numerous appearances Friday and Saturday signing autographs. Simko will be at the Atomic Toybox booth (#3921) on both Fri. and Sat. from 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM. He will be at The Loyal Subjects booth (#2544) on Friday from 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM. Finally, Simko will be at the Unknown Comics booth (#4505) on Fri. 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM and Sat. 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM.

Atomic Toybox (Booth 3921)

Aromic Toybox will once again have a number of GPK items for sale during the show. There will be two glow in the dark posters with artwork done by Joe Simko. The 24 x 18 posters are available in Bubblegum Pink and Snot Green. The company will also be selling four exclusive enamel pins; Adam Bomb, Adam Boom, Brony Tony, and Horse Pie Paul. Each pin can be purchased for $14.99 and is limited to 200 copies. Each purchase also comes with their show exclusive Packrat Pete GPK promo card. They will also have previously released GPK merchandise at their booth for purchase.

ToyNK (Booth 3749)

ToyNK will be selling the previously released GPK playing card deck done by artist Hydro74. Collectors purchasing the deck ($15) will get either an Adam Bomb or Hot Scott bonus sticker. Each of the bonus stickers is limited to 1000 copies.

The Loyal Subjects (Booth 2544)

The Loyal Subjects will be offering new versions of two previously released figures. Their GPK x Stranger Things figures Demo Gordon and Waff Elle will be for sale in exclusive glow in the dark versions. Based on promotional pictures it also looks like the figures will come with updated GPK cards as well. The company will also have other previously released GPK figures available for sale at the show.

Han Cholo (Booth 1720)

Han Cholo will have their entire new line of GPK jewelry and pins at the show for sale. There will be a Nasty Nick ring ($300), pendants of Adam Bomb ($50) and Luke Warm ($50), and enamel pins ($12); Dead Ted, Tee-Vee Stevie, Roy Bot and Nasty Nick. The ring and pendants both come with a GPK themed jewelry box.

Monogram (Booth 3645)

Monogram International will be offering an exclusive GPK 3D Foam Bag Clip pack. The pack contains the previously released Adam Bomb and Bony Tony figures, along with a glow in the dark version of Dead Ted. The set can be purchased for $25 and is limited to 500.

Abrams (Booth 1216)

Abrams Books will be on hand giving away free copies of the RL Stine GPK book, Welcome to Smellville. The book giveaway will be Wednesday night at 6:00 PM, while supplies last.

 

Super 7 Launches Glow in the Dark Adam Bomb ReAction Figure

After teasing the launch earlier this week, Suoer7 today officially launched their Garbage Pail Kids ReAction Figure – Adam Bomb (Glow). This 3.75” figure is similar to their previous launched Adam Bomb figures except this one Glows in the Dark. The figure is packaged with a heavy duty cardboard backing featuring artwork and fun facts about the characters on the back. The figure is available now for $20 on Super7’s website.

Super 7 Teases New GPK Adam Bomb Figure

Super 7 begun teasing a new Garbage Pail Kids Adam Bomb figure today on its social media accounts. The figure is a glow in the dark head shot of Adam. The figure resembles the same re-action figures released by Super 7 in 2020 and 2021 at San Diego Comic Con virtual events. There is no other info on Super 7’a post, other than “coming soon”. More to come on this one when Super 7 reveals more.

All the GPK at 2021 San Diego Comic Con At Home

For the second year in a row, this year’s San Diego Comic Con will be an at home event as the country continues to deal with the pandemic. The show is scheduled to take place this weekend 7/23-7/25. Once again, collectors can find a few Garbage Pail Kids related items at this year’s show. Read on to find out when and where to get your GPK SDCC fix.

Abrams

Abrams will be focusing on their GPK book series by RL Stine. On Friday, 7/23 at 1:00 PM PST, they will be holding a one hour panel called Garbage Pail Kids: Yuck-tastic Books and More. The discussion features author RL Stine, Topps VP of Licensing Ira Friedman, GPK book voice actor Tara Sands, and GPK book editor Charles Kochman. Collectors can view the panel live at SDCC’s website or after on their YouTube channel. Additionally, the official SDCC blog teased that Abrams will once again be offering a preorder bonus for the next GPK book, Camp Daze. Expect details to be available soon.

Super7

Super7 is back again this year with a new version of their Adam Bomb Reaction figure. The red coat wearing Adam can be preordered on 7/22 at 10:00 AM PST on Super7’s website. Once again the figure will cost collectors $20.

Atomic Toybox

Atomic Toybox is back once again with four new Garbage Pail Kids pins. There will be 200 glow in the dark pins of Adam Boom, Blasted Billy, Charred Chad, and Fryin Ryan available to collectors for $14.95 each. The pins go on sale on 7/23 at 9:00 AM PST on their Atomic-Nerd shop. The first 400 orders will receive an exclusive Fryin Ryan vs. Adam Boom trading card.

Super7 Announces 2021 SDCC Adam Bomb Reaction Figure

Once again there will be an at home version of the San Diego Comic Con in 2021. Companies are already planning their at home exclusives to the show. As first reported by GPKWorld, Super7 announced their show exclusives today that include a GPK figure. The Adam Bomb Reaction figure will be featured once again, this time in a red suit. This version of the figure will be available for preorder on July 21st at 12:00 PST at Super7’s website. The figure will cost $20 before shipping. Expect other companies to announced SDCC exclusives in the next couple of weeks.

Super7 Launches Garbage Pail Kids Reaction Figure Adam Bomb

Like all other comic cons this year, New York Comic Con was cancelled and moved to a virtual event. Super7 launches their special Stay-At-Home-Ic-Con today on their website. The highlight for GPK collectors is the Garbage Pail Kids Reaction Figure Adam Bomb. The figure measures 9x6x1. It can be purchased for $20 plus shipping, there is a 2 figure per customer limit. Super7 also debuted a new long sleeved Adam Bomb tshirt. The shirt features the GPK logo on front, with Adam Bomb going up both sleeves. The short is available for $40 in sizes S-3xl. Order now before these special Virtual NYCC items sell out.

Super7 Launches 2nd Printing of Universal Monsters X Garbage Pail Kids

Earlier this year at their San Diego Comic Con off-site store, Super7 launched their extremely popular Universal Monsters X Garbage Pail Kids set. The packs sold out quickly, leaving collectors to spend a lot of money to collect the set on the secondary market. Super7 decided to have a 2nd printing of the set done. Packs went on sale this evening at Super7’s online store.The set  has the same exact 24 cards as the first set. However, this time the 6 card packs are wrapped in a green wrapper, and have ** printed on the backs of the cards to denote the 2nd printing. Suoer7 is limiting sales to 6 packs per coustomer, and warns that duplicate orders will be cancelled. Suoer7 also does not guarantee a complete set when purchasing packs. Now’s the chance for collectors to put together one of the most popular sets of the year.

 

Super7 Launches Universal Monsters X GPK Shirts at Hot Topic Online

Super7 is continuing to use their Topps Garbage Pail Kids license, this time with t-shirts. Four new shirts are being offered at the Hot Topic online store only using some of the same artwork used earlier in the year for the Universal Monsters x Garbage Pail Kids card set. All artwork was completed by GPK artist Joe Simko. Both Freaky Frank and Drag Zac are available with name plates on a black shirt. The Black Lagoon character is available on a light blue shirt, while the black and white ad card is featured on a black shirt. The shirts are available is sizes S-3x, a and retail for anywhere from $24.90-$28.90 depending on size. Of course Hot Topic has their usual buy one get one 50% off sale on t-shirts going on now as well. Get them now before they are gone!

Did You Miss SDCC? You Might Still Have a Chance…

San Diego Comic Con is extremely hard to get tickets to. It’s the most popular comic con in the country and its turned more into an entertainment mecca than comic related. Its massive popularity makes getting tickets tough. If you weren’t able to attend, you might still have a chance at getting some Garbage Pail Kids merchandise from both Super7 and Creepy Co.

Super7 posted a message on their Facebook account today stating there would be Universal Monsters X GPK cards packs in their webstore sometime next week. They did warn the parks will be in limited quantities. In addition collectors visiting Super7 stores have said employees are telling customers they will have some packs available in stores soon as well. ToyWiz also briefly had packs and boxes for sale yesterday, but sold out quickly. Keep your eyes open if you are still looking for card packs.

Creepy Co. also mentioned recently that they would be posting their limited extras from SDCC on sale soon via their website. If you missed out on bop bags and the pin/lanyard you will get another chance soon.

Super7 Adds Universal Monster x GPK T-Shirts to SDCC Pop-up Store

The San Diego Comic Con exclusives still keep coming. Today Super7 unveiled two Universal Monsters x Garbage Pail Kids T-shirt’s that will be part of their exclusive offerings. Both shirts will be available at their San Diego store outside of SDCC on Wed night and all day Thur. This will be in addition to the Universal Monsters x GPK card packs that will be on sale for $6 per pack. No pricing was released for the shirts. The artwork on the shirts features some of the same artwork Joe Simko did for the card sets. Those going to SDCC need to expand their budget!
