Topps Expands Online Offers with GPK Spews Set/Launches GPK Disg-Race #117-#120

After taking two weeks off of selling presidential elections sets, Topps is starting off the new year by expanding their online offerings. Today Topps launched Garbage Pail Kids Disg-Race to the White House #117-#120. The cards consists of three GPK and one Wacky Packages card. Once again current events with the US political scene are the focus of the cards. In addition Topps also Launched Garbage Pail Kids Network Spews card #1. This is a brand new online only set that Topps says will parody current pop culture newsworthy moments.  Card #1 parodies Mariah Carey and her New Year’s Eve performance. With the GPK Disg-Race set coming to its end soon, this looks to be Topps new way to continue to offer daily online only GPK cards.

As usual each of the new cards can be purchased for $9.99 each or in lots of 5 for $29.99, 10 for $49.99, or 20 for $79.99. A five card bundle containing one each of today’s offerings (Disg-Race and Network Spews) can be purchased for $34.99. Free shipping is being offered via the SmartPost option. Topps has seemed to settle in on a release pattern the last few weeks with their presidential election cards. They look to be doing three releases, from Tues. – Thur. Today Topps revealed the print run for the third release this week, Garbage Pail Kids Disg-Race to the White House cards #113-#116. The sales remained consistant across both brands. The Wacky Packs card finished down slightly, while the GPKs were all around 300. There will sure to be more Trump to go around next week. Here are the final numbers.

Topps Reveals Print Run for GPK Disg-Race Cards #109-#112

img_0637Earlier this afternoon Topps revealed the print run for Garbage Pail Kids Disg-Race to the White House cards #109-#112. After the last couple of releases saw one card do very well in sales, the sales came back down to past levels. Once again the Wacky Packages card led the way with over 400 in sales, while all three GPK cards failed to hit the 300 mark. As we get closer to Christmas and people taking holiday vacations it will be interesting to see if collectors keep purchasing in high numbers. Here is the final print run info.

img_0628Last week’s top selling card was a GPK parody of Time magazine. This week’s cards got off to a strong start led this time by the Wacky Packages card. Today Topps revealed the print run for Garbage Pail Kids Disg-Race to the White House cards #105-#108. The David Gross painted parody card based off an old Wacky Packs card proved very popular with collectors selling 581 copies. The three GPK cards all finished around 300 copies. With more cards already posted for sale, the end of the set seems far away. Here is the final print run info.

img_0439For the third presidential election release this week Topps went with a parody of a major mainstream magazine as the highlight, and boy did it pay off. Brent Engstrom’s Trump Time painting has proven to be a huge hit with both casual and hardcore collectors. Today Topps revealed the print run for Garbage Pail Kids Disg-Race to the White House cards #102-#104. For the first time since Wacky Packages cards were added into the mix, a GPK card led the way in sales. The Time magazine Person of the Year card sold 758. This is the second best selling card after card #1. Both the Wacky Packs card and the Bob Dole GPK card fell a ways back this time around. Will Topps be able to capture the same magic they did with the Time card? They will certainly try as more cards will be on the way. Here is the final print run information.

Now three months later Topps has crossed the 100 card marker in their presidential election set. Today Topps revealed the print run for Garbage Pail Kids Disgrace cards #99-#101. like usual, the Wacky Packs card lead the way in sales with 441. The other two GPK cards came in right around 300. Sales have been consistent the past few weeks, as set collectors continue to purchase what Topps releases.
