New Sketch Artists to Debut with 2016 GPK Series 1 Set

A handful of new artists for the next Garbage Pail Kids set, (2016 Garbage Pail Kids American as Apple Pie In Your Face), have started showing some of their sketch cards for the set. All pictures below courtesy of the artist’s Facebook page.

First up Chad Scheres shows a peek at some color sketches.

In addition new artist Robert Jimenez mentioned he would be able to share his work soon. The next GPK series is set to release Jan. 20, 2016.

Topps Offers 2016 GPK Series 1 Sneak Peek

Topps via their Garbage Pail Kids Facebook page gave a quick sneak peak at a card from the upcoming 2016 GPK Series 1 set. They posted what appears to be a proofing sheet, the name is left blank on the card. You can also see a football themed card just below. The 2016 Garbage Pail Kids As American as Apple Pie In Your Face is set to release Jan. 20th, 2016.

Sneak Peek at Patch Set for Upcoming 2016 GPK Release

Garbage Pail Kids artist Pat Barrett shared some of the drawings via Instagram for the patch subset in the next GPK release 2016 Garbage Pail Kids Series 1. The next GPK series is set to release Jan. 20, 2016.

GPK-Con Announced for Las Vegas in Aug. 2016

The folks from Super Toy Con Las Vegas announced that as part of their 2016 Con there will be a GPK-Con held in conjunction with the Toy Show. The convention takes please Aug 5 – Aug 7, 2016 at the Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas. There will be many events centered around Garbage Pail Kids planned including; Artist Seminar, Bowling event, Trading zone, Autographs, etc. Four GPK artists have already been announced, (Simko, Engstrom, Pingitore, and Camera), with more to come. Topps Launches New Entertainment Facebook Page

toppsEarlier this week Topps launched a new Facebook page dedicated to the Entertainment side of the company, which includes Garbage Pail Kids. Right now the posts are focused on the upcoming Dr. Who set, but the page states all entertainment products will be featured. This is in addition to another Topps Entertainment Facebook Page that hasn’t been updated since 2014, and the Garbage Pail Kids Facebook page.

IDW Announces Garbage Pail Kids Trade Paperback

IDW announced this week the Garbage Pail Kids Trade Paperback. This book will combine all five of the one-shot comics released earlier this year into one book. No promo cards or variants announced for this one. Just all the comic in one. Pre-orders are available from most comic places, expect to pay right around $20 to pick this one up. The book ships in January 2016. Thanks to Kevin Johnson at Gotham City Comics for the picture.
